Eye Candy Friday

IMG_1782.JPG

I made this wall hanging back in my quilting days and it hangs in my kitchen every October. The blocks are all either court house step or log cabin and they are made with 1″ strips, the entire piece is only 22″ X 32″. I must have been insane to work with such tiny pieces!

Happy Haunting!

  1. Insane, maybe, but so very talented! Everything you make is beautiful! The quilt is great, right down to the spider hanging from the web!

  2. That’s why I don’t quilt: visually, I like the “tiny piece” quilts and I don’t have anything near to the patience required to make one!

  3. You have the “stick to it” gene, that’s for use. I dabbled briefly in quilting. Very briefly!

It looks wonderful though, and makes me want to try again!

  4. Carole — that’s amazing! I’m sooo not a quilter so I sit here in awe of that! Have a great day!

  5. Follies of youth, eh?… 😉 Back when I would crochet, I only used the tiniest steel hooks and the thinnest crochet cotton. It was all about the challenge. Didn’t help my eyesight any, that’s for sure. 😉

Do you listen to CraftLit? The current selection is the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Good stuff!

  6. OH! Thanks for the reminder that it’s ECF!!! hehe Adorable wall hanging – it’s time to start with the fall holiday decorating. Yay! 🙂

  7. Wow, that looks great! I love the effects you can do by combining specific color placement and geometric blocks. It’s a cool effect.
I keep meaning do a log cabin but never have gotten around to it. Very cute 🙂

  8. OMG, I love that! I love log cabins in any incarnation anyway and that is just so freaking cute! 1″ strips, 22×32? Insane maybe, but wow. That is some great detailing.

  9. How did you get the cat to leave the bow on its tail? Mine always goes crazy on me… not that I’ve tried it or anything 😉

    Lovely quilt!
