home made pasta is a lot like the first time you knit cables... once you do it, you'll realize that it is simple (albeit time consuming..) yet soooo worth the effort if you have the time. Nothing tastes quite so fabulous.
and i love your idea of a three ring binder for recipes. Mine are stuffed into a clear recipe book holder, and it's about to explode.
great meme.

Carole, you are NOT a bad blogger - and I'm so glad you did the meme!! I haven't done pasta, either - I have made egg noodles for chicken soup, and gnocchi. I don't know, it really seems like a LOT of work given the copious amounts of pasta consumed around here!

LOL! Bad blogger? You're one of the best bloggers I know!

I don't know if we have a favorite weekly dinner. If I had to choose, I'd say some kind of Mexican. I like to make large batches of taco meat and freeze it in individual scoops on a cookie sheet (then put in a freezer bag). Then it's ready to go for whatever we want - taco salad, burritos, etc.

Oh Carole, do not be intimidated by the thought of homemade pasta! The few minutes it requires are well worth the wonderful taste. I have a hand cranked pasta machine that has all kinds of different attachments for ravioli, lasagna, capellini, etc. and another hand cranked machine for many different tubular pastas. Also, as Donna mentioned, homemade pizza is the best. I raise the dough in the microwave oven on the lowest power for 10 minutes and it is ready by the time the oven heats. Now, I want to make pasta, pizza....

Home made pasta is awesome. My husband bought me a pasta maker when we first started dating and then when he upgraded my mixer he bought me the pasta machine attachment. Try it, you'll have no regrets.

it's funny about those recipes you have for ages, and don't know if you'll make them but they still sound so good.....i've got some of those. i don't really have a favorite weeknight dinner, but after a busy summer and 2 week vacation i'm desperate to eat my own cooking again - if only i can remember what we like to eat.

Don't fear the pasta. It is very easy to make. Probably easier than pie crust. The taste is worth it.
My favorite week night meal is soup with homemade bread. That's one thing I'm looking forward to about fall.

Stir-fry chicken with peppers, onions and Mexican seasoning, served over rice. Kinda fajitas without the fajitas.

Of course, I can't eat this any more, but it's quick and easy. Another one I like is black beans and rice with cheese on top.

I'm making chili in the crockpot for tonight. I don't spend the time in the kitchen like I used to since the kids are grown and gone. I have made homemade pasta before and it's really not hard to do. You should try it.
