September 26, 2008 By Carole

Despite my wishes for a summer that would last forever it would appear that autumn has indeed arrived.  Leaves this beautiful definitely help make it more bearable.

Have a great weekend!

Although these leaves have clearly arrived, our harbinger tree only has color on the fringes. So it isn’t quite fall yet! I’m with Norma though … it IS a wonderful season.

    Have a great weekend!

Have the leaves turned that much in your area?? They are lovely but I think I’d rather have another month of summer…

I love autumn. Especially the beginning of autumn where it is still warm during the day but it cools off at night and you can sleep with the windows open.

Like you, I want summer to linger, but only because I don’t want to go back to work! Having spent most of my life in southern California, I love the fall color I experience in Idaho.

Even I have to admit the colors of Fall are beautiful; the problem is that we know what follows. Brrrrrr.

I had to drive to Augusta (2 hours north) on Friday and the colors on the side of the highway did make it a much nicer drive!

I actually started learning about making sourdough bread a week before the stay at home orders thanks to @sprboston as he shared his starter and recipe and technique with me. Since then I have kept Mama Cass fed and alive and have baked many loaves of bread. This one might be my best one yet. I did the final proof in the fridge for 24 hours and baked it from its cold state.
