Hey, looky here, an Eye Candy Friday post of actual candy. I’ve always thought ribbon candy looked better than it tasted. It sure is pretty and fun to photograph, too.
Have a great weekend!

How pretty!
I have to agree, ribbon candy is best for Decorative Purposes!
It is prettier than it tastes. Nice picture.
Ha – my husband loves to watch those “How It’s Made” type shows, and we just saw ribbon candy being made last night. (It’s pretty interesting, actually, but don’t tell him I said that.)
Hope you’re enjoying your holidays, Carole. 🙂
There was one particular color of ribbon candy I liked as a child; I think it had a spicy, perhaps cinnamon-ny taste. Overall, though, I prefer your photograph 🙂
My grandmother LOVED this stuff.
It’s not Christmas without ribbon candy!
Yes, I may be Ruth’s grandmother. Who knew? ;^)
You take me back to my childhood!
Happy weekend, with plenty of knitting time.
(have you figured out how the snow keeps coming down in your blog, but no snowdrift has formed?)
I don’t think I’ve never tasted it before. I’ve seen it though never bought it. And I don’t remember as a child my mother buying it either.
My grandfather always had ribbon candy out at the holidays. So pretty displayed, but what I recall is the sensation of eating glass shards more than I remember how it tasted.
That’s quite a fetching picture. 🙂 I love it!
I have to admit, I actually love ribbon candy, although I haven’t had any for years.
Have a great weekend!
PRETTY!
My grandmother would buy it every year, but we could only eat from the plate of broken pieces.
It does look pretty! I haven’t had any for a long time.
Great photo! And I think this stuff tastes pretty good, but I have a serious sweet tooth.
So pretty! I haven’t had ribbon candy in years. I used to like it quite a bit but now I’d much rather have chocolate.
Pretty enough to eat! Have a wonderful weekend!
Clever – quite clever!
Beautiful picture!
When I was a kid, I loved ribbon candy! I haven’t seen ribbon candy in the stores in a long time.
I love the way it looks, but it always feels like it is cutting my tongue.
Lovely holiday decorations on your blog!
heh heh.
yeah, I agree that it is prettier than it is “tasty”.
Great photo.
ah crap now I remember what I forgot to get my mother…*sigh*
Pretty picture!
…fixed it. ;o)
True ribbon candy story:
Last year or the year before, I can’t remember, someone gave my office a box of ribbon candy for Christmas. We were pretty excited about it, because we are easily amused. I like sweets and shiny colorful things, so I was esp. pleased. Anyway, my boss and I are chowing down on ribbon candy when all of a sudden he says, “I think I just broke a tooth.” Sure enough, he had, and promptly went to the dentist and got it fixed. About two days later, he and I are chowing down on the ribbon candy again when he breaks ANOTHER tooth. At which point I grabbed the box and threw it in the trash. So yeah, lesson learned: beautiful to look at but not really edible. But it sure is pretty 😉
Haven’t seen that in years. Tastewise, it’s right down there with candy corn for me. Delicious photo, though.
