Ten on Tuesday

April 28, 2009 By Carole

The theme for Ten on Tuesday this week is 10 Words People Would Use to Describe You.  I decided to go with nouns and I couldn’t believe how easy and fast this was.

1. Wife

2. Mother

3. Librarian

4. Knitter

5. Spinner

6. Photographer

7. Friend

8. Cook

9.  Organizer

10. Writer

How about you?  How would someone describe you?

  2. Katie K says

I like to see myself as a verb, personally.

  3. deb says

    April 28, 2009 at 7:47 am

Of course, I would have put “friend” up higher on the list! 😉

  4. Karen says

    April 28, 2009 at 7:57 am

    Today mine would be “tired”.

  5. britt says

    April 28, 2009 at 9:16 am

i would describe myself as quite, but other people take it to mean something else.

Wife, mother, friend, knitter, listener, advisor, go to gal, dog-walker, mentor, home-maker (in the sense of making our house a home). Thanks for the excercise…it’s good to think of the things we are and Can do, rather than any negatives!

  7. Carrie says

    April 28, 2009 at 9:58 am

Pretty sure smartass would be high on my list…

  8. Mary K. in Rockport says

    April 28, 2009 at 10:17 am

I was always afraid someone would ask me that….

  9. LittleWit says

    April 28, 2009 at 10:46 am

Benevolent. 🙂 Or at least that’s how I would like people to describe me. What they may actually say is silly crazypants.

  10. Teyani says

    April 28, 2009 at 11:44 am

Nouns, eh? hmmmm…. probably Mother today.
    I like your list!

  11. Cynthia says

    April 28, 2009 at 11:45 am

Gee Carole, I guess humble would be on my list for you; I think I could come up with 10 words to describe you that might include great, fun, considerate, compassionate, generous, honest, endearing (okay I may be mixing the verbs and nouns). As for myself hummmm…..

  12. Hillary says

    April 28, 2009 at 1:03 pm

Funny, I started thinking about that list and had a hard time because I was thinking in term of verbs. Yours is a great list.

  13. Sylvia says

    April 28, 2009 at 1:11 pm

Nouns for me — these have been used recently: Dingbat, genius, [pesky little] sister, cellist, knitter, farmer, mom, artisan, comrade, survivor.

Adjectives for you: compassionate, cheerful, determined, kind, conscientious, fun-loving, loyal, genuine, self-motivated, loving.

  14. Beth says

    April 28, 2009 at 1:11 pm

    I like #9 a lot – do you make house calls? 🙂

  15. JessaLu says

    April 28, 2009 at 1:14 pm

‘smartass’ would definitely be on my list – as you can attest. ;o)

  16. Karen says

    April 28, 2009 at 1:19 pm

I try to be an organizer, but it never lasts very long.

  17. Stephanie says

    April 28, 2009 at 3:10 pm

Fun. I’ve been thinking of doing the ten on Tuesday thing and this one seems like a really good one. I guess I’ll have to check it out and find out more info.

  18. Sarah says

Interesting exercise. I like your list.

  19. Carla says

    April 28, 2009 at 3:53 pm

I think I might not like what I came up with. I’m not always very kind to myself, but it could be an interesting exercise in self-examination.

  20. Sara says

    April 28, 2009 at 4:23 pm

Darn I forgot knitter, quilter, photographer and a few others – needed more than 10 this time…

  21. Cookie says

    April 28, 2009 at 4:47 pm

You forgot (step) grandmother, cat slave, inspiration and reenactor for a start.

  22. Lucia says

    April 28, 2009 at 5:31 pm

You know, I haven’t the slightest idea.

  23. HB says

    April 28, 2009 at 6:03 pm

I need to post my list – I like using one word instead of going into a real long explanation – as I tend to do. Thanks for the ideas!

  24. jill says

    April 29, 2009 at 12:53 am

Great list Carol. I think I’ll come up with a list for my daily journal. Determined would make the top five – and maybe rejuvinated. Good words. Good exercise. Thanks.

  25. Catie says

    April 29, 2009 at 2:23 pm

Hmm. Mother, Wife, Friend, Daughter, Knitter, Sister, Teacher, Patient (adjective, not noun) Disorganized, Fun

  26. Helen says

Thanks! I’m off to put my list on my blog.
