Ten on Tuesday

The theme for this week’s Ten on Tuesday is a musical one.  10 Favorite Songs of the 80s.  In the 80s I graudated from high school, graduated from college, got a full time job, and got married.  Big stuff.  And my tastes sure changed with each of those life changes!

1. Walking on Sunshine – Katrina and the Waves

2. The Warrior – Scandal

3. Take My Breath Away – Berlin

4. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun – Cyndi Lauper

5. What I Like About You – The Romantics

6. Come Dancing – The Kinks

7. Crazy For You – Madonna

8. Kyrie – Mr. Mister

9. With or Without You – U2

10. Don’t Forget Me When I’m Gone – Glass Tiger

And a special bonus song.  I know You’re Out there Somewhere by The Moody Blues.  Even as I was making my life, starting a career, buying a house and thinking I knew exactly where things were headed,  I secretly knew something wasn’t right.  And I secretly hoped that things were going to change – for the better.  And they did, but not until the 90s.

Y’all know what happened then, right?

I’m thinking Hannah and Dale had something to contribute to your 90′s music list.

;) Great list – those songs, along with the Talking Heads and a few other things, were all very much a part of my 80s soundtrack!

    I love 80s music, even though that’s the decade I was born…

1980s music was hard on my ears and not because I’m old. ;-)
However, your choice of music was music to my ears.

All great songs, which I found myself singing as I read through the list :)

Great list! I loved the Kinks! Even stalked them before a concert in Cincinnati. But I was too starstruck to say/do anything when I saw them. :)

80′s music is my most favorite and that Moody Blues song is pretty close to the top of my list. :)

My DH loves 80′s music and you choose some great ones. I also thought the 90′s were better.

I like your list, especially your bonus song. I could actually do this ToT: I have lots of favorite songs from the 80s. The hardest part would be remembering/looking up which ones were really from the 80s as opposed to the 70s or 90s. The memory is the second thing to go.

BUT you forgot my favorite duo of the 80′s–Hall and Oates! I’m still rocking and going to their concerts 30 years later!! I love Sirius Radio and listen to the “Big 80′s” all the time!

I would have to say it was Dale! He came along and brought you joy and happiness!

    Like your songs…

Gotta add my favorites– David Bowie “Let’s Dance” and “Kayleigh” by Marillion. OK, my life was framed by 80s music–I hit a couple of those milestones n the eighties, too. But since I didn’t manage to graduate college in 4 years, that one took until the 90′s. I do LOVE your list. Brought back some wonderful memories!

Great list. I loved most of those songs. I still need to put together my list but it shouldn’t be too hard since I’ve got a bunch of 80′s stuff on my iTouch. I loved that stuff.
