Ten on Tuesday

Mrs. Perkins Shed resized for blog

Today’s topic, 10 Movie Stars You Would Like to Meet, is inspired by this week’s Academy Awards Ceremony. No big surprises on my list, I bet.

  1. Meryl Streep. I’m putting her right at the top because I honestly think she’s the finest actor of our generation. She nails every part that comes her way.
  2. Mo’Nique. She certainly has a different take on things and I’d love to learn more.
  3. Sandra Bullock. I think she’d be a lot of fun – I’m thinking we could get mani/pedis together.
  4. Julia Roberts. We watched Pretty Woman the other night and it made me fall in love with her all over again. Plus, she knits.
  5. Gabourey Sidibe. The girl is just full of life and optimism.
  6. George Clooney. I think this one is self-explanatory.
  7. Jeremy Renner. Perhaps he can explain the appeal of The Hurt Locker to me.
  8. Stanley Tucci. But only if he promises to keep his Lovely Bones character well hidden.
  9. Colin Firth. I’ve loved him since Bridget Jones’ Diary. And he IS Mr. Darcy, after all.
  10. Morgan Freeman. The voice. It’s all about the voice.

It would truly be such an honor to meet any one of these talented individuals. I’ll just keep dreaming. In the meantime, if you want to be included in the weekly Ten on Tuesday topic emails, please let me know.

  1. Yes! to Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, Morgan Freeman, and emails. (I would like to meet Shemar Moore, even though he doesn’t quite qualify as a movie star, for equally self-explanatory reasons.)

  2. Yeah, mani/pedi’s with Sandra would be fun. Oddly, I think it’d also be fun to with Helen Mirren. Happy Tuesday!

  3. Carol,
Jeremy Renner had an interview with Terry Gross two weeks ago. They discuss the movie and perhaps some of your questions could answered there. As a warning in advance, the interview was interesting until they began discussing Renner’s role in a movie about Jeffrey Dahmer. Terry giggled and laughed very inappropriately when they were talking about one of Dahmer’s victims. I was so upset about her response (and I do iunderstand that sometimes people laugh when they are uncomfortable) but I turned it off and may never be able to listen to Fresh Air again.

BTW, I thoroughly enjoy your blog and look forward to reading it with my coffee.

  4. Add me to the Ten on Tuesday list, please!
I think Jon Bon Jovi would have to top my list of actors I’d like to meet, purely for eye candy reasons. Jon Cusack and Steve Buscemi would also make my list since I usually go see their movies regardless of the reviews.

  5. Oh so many of the same. Julia has always been up there on my list too. My husband loves that brown polka dot dress in that movie! Love your picture today…and please add me to the Ten on Tuesday list. Thanks!

  6. I’m fascinated by the way Meryl Streep turns her head away and looks up over her own shoulder in the middle of a conversation – wonder why she does that?

  7. did i ever tell you that meryl streep was my college graduation speaker? unfortunately, i never actually met her, but i got to walk by her very closely and stare at her from 10 feet. heh.

  8. Love the list. Yes Colin Firth will always be Mr Darcy. Please add me to the email list. Now I am going to think about and post my ten 🙂
