Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

Dale and I started our Memorial Day weekend with a fine American past time. We went to a ball game. Specifically, we went to the first game of the season for our local Brockton Rox.

As luck would have it, Dale’s friend and fellow band member, Bob, was there with the high school marching band. He invited us to join him in the manager’s box so we ditched our stadium seats and went for higher ground.

The view and photo ops were so much better from up there! These seats also come with the bonus of wait staff so we didn’t have to wait in line for beer. Hooray!

The game itself was, well, boring. And the Rox lost. But the stadium was relatively full and the company in our box was great.

The cheap seats are never going to be the same again.

  1. Great view! There’s something to add to yesterday’s list: cherish the simple life, but once in a while get a taste of luxury.

Having just looked it up, I now know that the Rox are part of an independent pro league, not affiliated with MLB; I had no idea such a thing existed. Very cool. We like our local single-A team, the Lowell Spinners. Parking is cheap and all the seats are good, as well as cheap.

  2. We went to a baseball game Saturday night. No manager’s box, but we do have very good seats right in front of first base. Wish I could go to a ball game every night…but I’d NEVER bring my knitting to those seats – too many foul balls, you gotta pay attention! 🙂

  3. Ahhhh, baseball, beer, and summer … life is good! Did the manager’s box have a screen in front to protect Dale? LOL Sounds like a good time 🙂
