Leftie Scarf

I finished my Leftie Scarf right after Thanksgiving. I wove in all the ends and I blocked it and I set it aside to photograph. And now I’m showing it to you – – – which means I can finally wear it!

Of course, my winter coat is red so I can’t actually wear it with that. I’ll figure something out that. And no, I won’t be sending it to one of you no matter how nicely you ask.

You may recall, I bought the kit when I visited Margene back in September. The yarn is Blue Ridge Yarns Footprints and it was a pleasure to work with. The colors – despite not going with my coat – are rich and beautiful.

And I like that the leaves are green. I just think leaves should be green. Well. Unless they are orange and red in the fall. You’ll have to wait and see Kym’s and Margene’s finished scarves to see leaves that aren’t green.

In the meantime, I’ll be wearing this and gloating because mine is D-O-N-E.

  1. Your scarf is just lovely. I immediately placed this pattern in my queue and hope to knit one in 2013 unless……… I do have a lovely light blue coat 🙂

  2. Beautiful! Those are definitely my colors- ahem….. It’s interesting how the kits use the same colored leaves and differing stripes around them. A nice variation to the original pattern.

  3. oooohhh, it’s lovely! green leaves are a pretty thought right now, aren’t they? I’m super-impressed that you wove in all those ends, too!

  4. Oh, Carole! It’s so lovely! Mine, sadly, is On Hold for the holidays. But I’ll be getting right back to it on my break. (And my leaves are a lovely rusty color. . . )

  5. It’s beautiful, and will look amazing no matter what you wear it with! Just sayin’ though, it’d look smashing with a black wool pea coat 😉

  6. They’ll be waiting for a long time before my is finished! Sadly, I had to put mine on hold for now. I’m such a slow knitter. Anyway, I think Leftie would be beautiful with a red coat! Colors that pop and usual not seen together make for a fun and more interesting look.

  7. That is beautiful, Carole. I bought the kit to make it at Rhinebeck. Hope to start it in the new year.

  8. I LOVE that scarf. Since, you have let it be known that you won’t be giving it away, can you tell me where to purchase the kit?

  9. I know I’ve said it before, but those colors are just gorgeous. Do you have any black jackets? I can see those colors pop with it. I’m sure it will look awesome any way you wear it!

  10. The colors in the scarf are fabuloua. I’d love to see some pictures of it on. This fall when Land’s End offered a 30% discount on any one item, I bought a Black and white tweed coat so it would go with all the shawlettes and scarves I’ve been knitting!

  11. As always, lovely! Such happy colors, to me anyway. Did St. Anthony ever come through for you about the misplaced shawl? I’ve been waiting to see that one too.

  12. So beautiful! Those colors sing to me in that combination. Can’t wait to see it on. I might have to think about one in those colors myself.

  13. Well….you could buy a new coat to match the shawl! Then you wouldn’t have to give up that leftie! vbg

  14. I just ordered a Footprints kit from Webs, and have been trying to figure out what to make with it. My colors are similar to yours, but they look more dull. Anyhoo—your Leftie is gorgeous.

  15. Your scarf is so lovely…the colors are wonderful! You will have to shop for a new coat to go with your scarf!

  16. I love projects that have such wonderful memories attached. It makes you smile just to look at it, doesn’t it? It’s lovely.

  17. Hi Carole… since I’ve been reading your blog for awhile, I added you as a friend in Ravelry… just wanted to give you a heads-up! OH, and I love your Leftie… I have it in my queue – planning to use leftover sock yarn for the little ‘swimmers’… 🙂 Just gotta decide on what decadent yarn I shall use for my MC. Thanks for sharing yours!
