Wednesdays Are For Knitting: Big Yellow Taxi Socks
I’m a little behind on birthday socks these days so even though Hannah’s birthday was yesterday, today I’m showing you Jessica’s birthday socks. Her birthday was way back in July but I finished these babies at the beach last week – just in time for her to model them and then take them home after week one of vacation.
She was very pleased with them and especially loved the colors.
They fit perfectly and slouch in a very pleasing way.
And they are so very soft. The yarn is Crown Mountain Farms handspun from back-in-the-day and the color is called Big Yellow Taxi.
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot, you know.

Don’t it always seem to go . . . that you don’t know what you got til it’s gone. . .
(I’ll be singing it all day now.)
And those are wonderful socks!
Great socks and song. It will be in my head all day. 🙂
Love the reference, and the socks are quite lovely.
Love those colors — the yarn knit up beautifully! Lots of birthdays!!
Those look so warm and perfect for a morning like we have today. And I think those colors are kinda Autumn-like, so it’s fitting that she got them now!
It’s great to have you back and the socks are yummy! Can’t wait to hear more about the two weeks on the beach.
She’ll have them just in time for falls chilly nights!
“With a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swinging…” 🙂
So cozy looking!
The day Paradise put up a parking lot…. OK. That might be in my head all day long….
Now I have some serious sock envy. . .
love the socks and the song… will be a funny ear-worm for a Sunday! (my sock mo-jo has stalled again – not sure my plan to gift socks for Christmas is such a great idea!)
What a wonderful gift! You know how to celebrate with class, Carole.
