Patrick’s Senior Photos

January 11, 2017 By Carole

When your Nana is a photographer, well, she takes your senior portraits. And that’s just what I did on a warm afternoon last November with my grandson, Patrick. I didn’t want to show them to you all until Christmas gifts had been printed and distributed but now that everyone has seen them, well, you can, too.

But first, how about a little trip back in time to January 2008?

I distinctly remember, during this photoshoot of the sweater I had just knit for him, saying, “just think, buddy, before you know it we’ll be taking your senior photos.” And here we are, seemingly in the blink of an eye.

I might be a tad prejudiced but he sure is handsome. And not only that he’s also a fine young man. He’s thoughtful and kind, he’s grateful and helpful, he loves his family and he’s ready to take on whatever the world has to offer.

I can’t wait to see what comes next for him. I’d just like it to slow down a bit so that we can savor these moments together.

What a special rite of passage to get to participate in. I bet having you take his photos made it easier to capture his personality because he was more relaxed, too. What a handsome guy.

Patrick, the senior, the young man on the verge of celebration, new experiences and beginning to chart his unique path through life. All the best to you!

P.S. You have a pretty awesome nana!

I love all of the pictures!

I don’t know him of course, but I think you can tell looking at him that he is a good person, looks-wise and otherwise. I hope he will have amazing success no matter what he decides to do.

They are lovely pictures. So much has changed with years gone by – I expected formal indoor shots with Patrick in suit and tie as his senior portrait. Guess that makes me officially an oldie (but goodie). As I look at your pictures again, I think the change is good. These show so much more of his personality.

Wonderful photos of a wonderful young man! Young people don’t often get enough credit for being kind, thoughtful, grateful, and helpful in a world where those can be difficult qualities to come by, so thank you for sharing this milestone in Patrick’s journey. Wishing him much success and happiness!

If there’s one thing the pandemic has been good If there’s one thing the pandemic has been good for, it’s my sourdough game. I actually started learning about making sourdough bread a week before the stay at home orders thanks to @sprboston as he shared his starter and recipe and technique with me. Since then I have kept Mama Cass fed and alive and have baked many loaves of bread. This one might be my best one yet. I did the final proof in the fridge for 24 hours and baked it from its cold state. Great spring and ear and crumb, it was delicious with dinner tonight. #sourdough #sourdoughbread #lookatthatcrumb #lookatthatear #homebakedbread #imadeitmyself #homemadeisbest
