Weekending

After being away last weekend it was great to be home without any plans for the last few days. We made the most of it in our usual style, starting with our Friday night in. It truly is my favorite night of the week, such a great time to relax and catch up while enjoying a cocktail and a dinner of snacks.

We had discussed a few options for Saturday, including a trip to an art show and brewery. But. The weather was icky and the fire was warm and, in the end, we stayed home. I think this picture of Mason is a great representation of how we spent the day.

On Sunday we decided we had lolled about quite enough and we set about to make a plan for the day. It helped that we made our plans over waffles, bacon and coffee.

We decided on a bit of shopping – still looking for furniture for that new guest room – and some sightseeing. Of course I took a selfie before we headed out the door. That’s LipSense Violette with Rose gloss, in case you wondered.

Our shopping excursion was uneventful as was our search for the king eider (Dale still hasn’t seen it) but our visit to Flynn’s was great. Burgers and beer was the perfect way to end a great day.

How was your weekend?

  1. Ha. I don’t think I left the house except to walk the boys…or even changed from sweat pants since I got home Friday night. Luckily, I rmmbered to shower!

  2. Town Meeting in the sleet, slush, and snow. It was loooong, but lots got accomplished.

  3. Ours was a lazy damp weekend. DH got home from a trip so late on Friday that it was Saturday. Lazy felt justified and we went with it. The calm before the storm that is usually April at our house.

  4. I had a very . . . relaxed . . . weekend myself! And I really like seeing All Those Taps there at Flynn’s. 😉

  5. Ah, to live the life of Mason! I pretty much did that on Saturday while it was pouring here, and I bet if I made plans over waffles and bacon, that would have led to a Sunday nap!

  6. Wonderful shot of Mason! And your weekend sounds wonderful too. Ours was nice…but home each day (which was fine). And, our weather improved which was great…now more rain again as of tomorrow…

  7. Sounds like a great weekend Carole! I finished two books, went to WEBS, baked a turkey and Swedish meatballs and went bowling and snow shoeing. I should have taken today off! 🙂

  8. I read “A Man Called Ove,” from your book list, and it is the best book I’ve read in a long time. He reminded me SO much of my dad.

  9. Your weekend looks fantastic. My weekend was a mix of happy, sad, beautiful, and even a little bit of relaxing time.

  10. fabulous, Carole! I love that your side hustle is getting you to take more selfies – I always love to see your smiling face!
