A Year of Reading: 2017

January 3, 2018 By Carole

Are you ready for another year end type post? This one is about reading and it’s super long. It took SEVENTEEN screenshots from Goodreads to get all of these books imported here for you!

That’s a LOT Of books! Not as many as in 2016, though. I’m thinking it was all that baby holding I started doing back in October. Still, 78 books and 26,515 pages is lot. And most of it was really really good. Stand outs include Geek Love, News of the World, South of Broad, The Nix, Homegoing, Lincoln in the Bardo, Exit West and 4 3 2 1 – I’d recommend any one of those in a heart beat.

I hope you read awesome books last year and I hope you will continue to do so this year, too.

That looks like a great year in reading and I hope 2018 brings as much (or more!) enjoyment of books. I wish goodreads had a more user-friendly way to share our year in books. I only had the patience for four or five screenshots, definitely not 17!

This blogging, reading community here is truly the best thing ever. You inspired my reading so often this past year, I love having my “own personal librarian” who gives the best recommendations! XO

Awesome, awesome, awesome. And I have also been inspired by you. I see at least 4 books I got from you. Here’s to 2018!

I think I could stop taking others’ recommendations and just read all the books that you do. There is so much overlap in our lists! Maybe it’s because we both work/have worked in libraries? or maybe it’s because great minds think/read alike 🙂

Oh I LOVE it when you post about books!! I also read Backman’s Every Day the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer. I cried…it was beautiful! So many books on your list are now on mine. Now I just have to find a way to give up sleeping, working and cooking to squeeze in all this fabulous reading. ?

So many books, so little time! Thanks—both for the ones I have read and the ones that will be added to the “to read” list!

Exit West will be on my top ten list, too. Lincoln in the Bardo has been redownloaded to my phone, so I hope to make it one of the early finishers for the year.
