Sometimes Mondays

Are the start of school vacation week. And that means I welcome this particular Monday with open arms.

We’ve got some fun stuffed planned for this week and I promise to pop in and out and tell you about it. In the meantime, thank you for all of the support for my Scary Mommy article. And for those of you who were aware of my flu diagnosis, know that I appear to have dodged the brunt of it and I’m feeling fine and have been fever-free since Friday afternoon.

My self-imposed hibernation made for a pretty low key weekend and I’m just fine with that. There was snacking and music and reading and television and even some knitting. Truthfully, it wasn’t that different than a regular weekend around here!

Well. A regular weekend with cream puffs, anyway.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Catch you in a day or so.

  1. A regular weekend with cream puffs sounds like a pretty good one. It also sounds like a good name for a Barry Manilow cover band. Enjoy your week whether or not it involves either cream puffs or Barry Manilow.

  2. I’m glad you’re mostly recovered from the flu, especially before a vacation week. I hope there is a cream puff or two left for breakfast!

  3. Those cream puffs look soooooo good! Have a wonderful week, whatever kind of week you want it to be.

  4. Glad you are on the mend! I too spent the weekend dodging what I thought was the flu, (it’s going through the house…ugh.)
I loved your article on Scary Mommy. It is amazing (sad) to me that women continue to mark their self worth on their looks! Why, oh why do we undercut our self worth as human beings?
Wearing gym clothes to bed? Being a walker, it’s winter here, I’d be sleeping in a parka, hat ,scarf, gloves, fleece lined pants and my hiking boots! The polite thing for me to do at this point would be to get up and walk out.
    Enjoy your holiday today.

  5. Glad you’re feeling better, SO GLAD your piece was published and so glad you’re on vacation! Enjoy your time with Dale!

  6. Bravo Carole!! I just read your Scary Mommy and it was right on point!! Keep up the good work
    Have a nice vacay

  7. Glad you’re feeling way better. MA has been hard hit by the flu this yr. I was down w something the beginning of Feb. BTW the ‘Scary Mommy’ article was great. If it’s on your fb page I’ll gladly share it, that way, only.

  8. I’m glad you feel better. My Gram made cream puffs often. I liked them best with filled with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with her homemade fudge sauce. Yours look heavenly. Really a weekend with cream puffs sounds fabulous to me.

  9. I’m so far behind on blog reading. Yikes! I’m sorry to hear you had the flu but very happy that you are feeling better so quickly. It’s amazing what a little hibernation can do for you.
    Happy knitting!
