Currently, September 2020

It’s been a while since I shared an update about what’s going on for me right here, right now. Today I’m going to remedy that!

Anticipating: picking up the first of four weeks of a dahlia share I purchased from a local flower farm. I have never had much success growing dahlias but I love them and I’m really looking forward to having a fresh bouquet each week.

Missing: Animal Crossings! My Nintendo Switch abruptly stopped working on August 17th (note that I know the exact date). I tried a few things to reset it and then got online with support and, sadly, it had to be sent in for repair. It’s all under warranty so that’s good but they are way behind on repairs and I’m still uncertain about when I will get it back.

Recommending: Liz Lamoreux. I recently took an e-course with this wonderful teacher/guide and I found it to be refreshing and helpful for understanding how I tick. If you aren’t familiar with her courses and work I truly recommend that you check her out.

Practicing: yoga with Adriene. She’s amazing and encouraging and I always always feel better after spending some time on the mat with her guidance.

Reading: The Women of Brewster Place (I really like it so far) but I want to highly highly recommend that you read Hamnet. It’s a gorgeously written book about love and loss, grief and marriage. Put it on your list, friends.

Watching: Jamestown on PBS. I love a good period show. And also I May Destroy You on HBO. I’m not all in on this one yet (I think it’s meant for a younger demographic) but it’s intriguing, for sure.

Learning: how to use our new Samsung TV. It’s bigger and better and a leeetle bit confusing but I’m sure it will get easier.

Creating: space in my life for some new things as I drop some things that just aren’t working for me anymore. I can’t talk about it just yet but it’s good stuff.

  1. A Dahlia share sounds wonderful! Enjoy. Creating space in your life sounds intriguing. September is such a good month for new beginnings!

  2. Loads of good stuff here (except for the very sad AC news)! I do hope you get your Switch back soon (and I hope they can recover your island). I’m in complete agreement with you on Hamnet and hope to see some of those lovely dahlias on Fridays.

  3. I’ve got my blinders on in regards to Animal Crossing! I don’t think I have space in my life for that right now… like you, it’s getting crowded.

I had some Audible credits languishing (because I haven’t been reading) (at all), but yesterday downloaded The Women of Brewster Place, and Hamnet today. I’m looking forward to both!

  4. Lots of wonderful things. I’ve seen a couple episodes of Jamestown maybe it’s time to visit that series. Happy Wednesday.

  5. The AC news is just too sad! I hope your switch is back and soon! But the rest of these things are all so wonderful! Especially the dahlia share, what a fascinatingly excellent idea! 🙂

  6. Loss of AC just means room for other good things, no? Maybe you will get it back sooner than expected. All the rest sounds good. I could not get into I May Destroy You at all. I tried, but it just didn’t work for me. Looking forward to your news, Carole.

  7. Oh! A dahlia share! I’m so jealous. . . I adore dahlias, but they are such a lot of work. (Truly a labor of love for dahlia growers.) I hope your Switch comes back to you soon. . . so you can be spending those “bells” again. 😉 And . . . well. You know what I think about Hamnet already! XO
