Eye Candy Friday

At some point the zinnias are going to stop growing and blooming but for right now it’s all zinnias, all the time. I have bouquets in our kitchen, bathroom, living room, dining room (well, not any more because I gave that one to Mary when she stopped by), and this sweet one in the bedroom on my nightstand. It’s wonderful to open my eyes in the morning and have this be the first thing I see.

Have you ever given consideration to the first thing you see when you open your eyes? I hope it’s something beautiful.

  1. Ha! The first thing I see in the morning is dark about 75% of the year. I get up pretty early. It those zinnias would be sure to send me off for sweet dreams at night. Happy weekend!

  2. You are wise to take advantage of this time of year and ensure that the first thing you see is something beautiful. I wish I could say the same — it’s dark when I get up now, so usually the first thing I see is my own reflection in the bathroom mirror. And first thing in the morning, that can sometimes be a scary sight! Enjoy those zinnias for as long as they last.

  3. Your Zinnias are lovely!

First thing I see every morning is a furry yellow face telling me it’s time to get up and feed the cats. Right Now. Well, he is pretty, so I forgive him for waking me up at 4:30. I guess.

  4. What a lovely thing to surround yourself with zinnias everywhere! The first thing I see when I wake up is usually darkness with a little bit of light making interesting patterns around the curtains. (Then I have to take a moment to remember if I’m waking up in NJ or MD.)

  5. What a lovely thing to consider! Not only what I DO see first thing when I wake up . . . but what I WANT to see first thing when I wake up. The choice is ours — and I really like YOUR choice. XO

  6. I wish I woke up to enough light to see anything, but I get up at 0:darkthirty – LOL. Really. But what a wonderful idea to have a bouquet on your bedside table. The first thing I see when I turn on the light is my sweet little Maltese who is 16 years old.

  7. When I get to lay there I see a prism on the mirror in our room. I like that. Otherwise – Mr. Boone is #1 view!
