Looking Back: October 2020

Before November hits the halfway point, let’s take a look back at October.

First, the photos.

Next: the videos.

And, the questions.

What did I learn?
I made overnight oats for the first time and I love them! I can stir up a batch on Sunday night and have enough for breakfast at work all week. They are super simple and healthy, too.

What was my greatest accomplishment?
I’d have to say all those outside walks. I went by myself, I went with Dale, and I went with the kids. It was a great way to move and get some fresh air and take in all the beauty of October.

Where did I go?
Not far! hahahaha! The woods and work and that’s about it. We’re pretty strict about staying safe at home.

Who did I spend time with? And what did we do?
Dale and the kids. I’m fortunate that my bubble includes Hannah and Mikey as well as Jessica’s crew. We try and have them over for dinner on Wednesdays and we occasionally see them on the weekend, too.

What brought me joy?
Time outdoors. And all that orange – it really hit me when I looked at that photo mosaic that October is for orange.

What do I want to remember?
Jackie turning 3. Our first indoor fire of the season. Walks in the woods and at the ocean. And every moment of this life because the joy always outweighs the sorrow.

On to the rest of November.

  1. What a beautiful way to look at things, Carole! XO (And I’m kinda loving that . . . new piece of equipment I’m spying in your photo collage!)

  2. Great positive vibes, Carole. And I’m with Kym – what is that piece of equipment in your collage? We’ve not heard about that! I would say the word for November is patience. We are going to need it!

  3. I think I like the cranberry bog best, but that is also some interesting new equipment, a lovely necklace, and I love Jackie’s races!

  4. I think I now want to embroider “the joy always outweighs the sorrow” onto a throw pillow or something — that’s a great mantra for these troubling times! I certainly see a lot of joy in your photos and video (and yes, a lot of orange as well!).

  5. I noticed the equipment too! 🙂 Here’s to more outside and to living that last statement which totally and completely made my day. Thank-you!

  6. Ha! I noticed an abundance of orange, too! And, uh oh, as I’m typing this I see a FB friend request from YOU… and I’m pretty sure it’s not really you!!

  7. I noticed all the orange, too! October is my favorite month for being outside and it isn’t even as colorful here! also, three??!! there is much to celebrate for sure.
