Eye Candy Friday

Even without parties and entertaining, I still decorated our house for the holidays. In fact, it might mean more this year than ever before because nothing lifts my spirits like holiday decor. One new thing I got this season is this fresh greenery arrangement from a local vocational school. We have a friend who is a teacher there and when he shared on Facebook that the students in the horticultural department were creating and selling arrangements, I jumped on it. It’s so pretty and the price was fantastic ($18!) and I love that my purchase supports the kids as they learn about flower arranging.

That’s a lot of words for an Eye Candy Friday post!

Happy weekend, friends!

  1. Lovely! I’ve also found that a few decorations in almost every room have lifted my spirits, and I may leave them up for a good long time. Happy Weekend, Carole!

  2. This reminds me that I have a lovely lantern that holds a candle and had the green foam for fresh greens. I need to get outside and do some clipping.

  3. What a beautiful centerpiece — and a great cause, too! I love having fresh greens in my house for the holiday season. (I take my clippers and cut my own from the garden!) (Just like Martha Stewart. Only much less variety and with far less flair and style.) I keep reading how important holiday decorations are this year — they make people happy and provide emotional comfort! XO

  4. That is a lovely centerpiece and good on for vocational schools providing such a program. We need to do more to promote vocational schools. Happy Friday.

  5. I treated myself to a new Mountain Weavers tablecloth in green and it’s making me very happy! Love the centerpiece Carole (and the cause)!

  6. Talk about a win-win, any way you look at it! I used to get pedicures at a local vocational school, but that program moved. I never thought to look into something like this! What a fantastic program to support–and enjoy.
