Wednesdays Are For Knitting

The wedding knitting is continuing and with less than 2 months until the big day, I’m definitely feeling the pressure.

This is the status of Aperture:

I am 1/3 of the way into the 1st section of the 3rd repeat. The pattern calls for 5 repeats all together. The 1st section is fairly simple while the 2nd section is a bit trickier as the lace patterning is on both sides. It’s for me and, while I should be able to finish it easily enough, it’s about to be set aside because . . .

This is the status of Hannah’s sweater:

The sweater that she’s wearing with her wedding gown before and after the ceremony. Yeah. I think, after knitting 3 swatches, I finally have gauge. On size 2 needles. The good news is my girlie is tiny and I’ve got a vacation coming up next week. We won’t talk about all the potential bad news.

And, if you’re keeping track, I haven’t started the socks yet. I’ll tell you which pattern I chose tomorrow, though, so c’mon back for that.

  1. I can see the Hallmark movie title now, “A Very Knitted Wedding”. Will the MOB meet the date? How will the game of Yarn Chicken end? Tune in to cheer them on to the romantic finish in scenic Iceland.

Seriously? I have faith you’ll get it done.

  2. I am sure you will fly through these projects, but 2 months is cutting it a bit close, Carole. Are you somebody who works better under pressure? Hope so! 😉

  3. It looks like not just Wednesdays will be for knitting! I like Robby’s Hallmark movie, and am getting my popcorn and a good seat to cheer you on!

  4. Wish I lived closer! 🙂 You’ll get it done – just sit and watch Hallmark movies all week long!

  5. Oh man, I remember the wedding knitting!! Shawls for Ali & me, sachets for all of the female attendants + for my sister because it was her birthday! I remember knitting the shawls and not being happy with the color, so also overdyed them!

Good luck!! I hope you have LOTS of (relaxing) knitting time on your vacation.

    1. I had forgotten that saga. Totally successful example of overachiever. In the best way!

  6. I know that you’ll finish all those projects with time to spare … it might be on the plane to Iceland, but there will be time to spare. Your shawl is gorgeous, and I love the color!
