Unraveling

I’m joining Kat today with a post about knitting and reading.

I’m happy (so happy) to report that there hasn’t been any unraveling. In fact, the knitting of the wedding sweater is done! I wasn’t going to bring it with me camping but I decided I couldn’t give up some big blocks of time to work on it so I brought it along. I finished one edge on the ride to NH to pick up the van, I worked on the other edge during the day on Saturday and finished on Sunday. All I have to do know is block the sleeves and body and then sew in the sleeves. Woo hoo!

On the reading front, I am currently reading Chris Bohjalian’s newest book, The Hour of the Witch (Bingo square by an author you love) and yesterday I started listening to Moonflower Murders by Anthony Horowitz. This one is for the story-within-a-story square on my Bingo card and was suggested by at least 2 or perhaps even 3 of you. So far I like it and I’m grateful for all of your suggestions for that square.

And that’s it for me on the knitting and reading front. How about you? What are you knitting and reading?

  1. I’m glad to hear the good news about the wedding sweater and hope to see it close-up and modeled by the bride. It looks like a roll of paper towels and a rag in that photo and I’m sure it definitely does not look like that in real life!

  2. Bravo for the wedding sweater! I, too, am looking forward to seeing modeled photos! I am impressed that you found time to knit on your weekend! πŸ™‚

  3. Congratulations on your almost finish! I knew you could do it, Carole. I hope you enjoyed knitting in nature.

  4. Hooray for finished sweater pieces!

I’ll be interested to hear what you think of Hour of the Witch. I read it earlier this month and was a little disappointed, but perhaps I just set my expectations too high.

  5. When I first opened your blog post and saw the red circle there . . . I thought you were highlighting a roll of toilet paper. πŸ˜‰ I’m so glad you’ve got the knitting done on the sweater!!! I can’t wait to see it all put together, blocked and finished. It’s going to be so special. (And WAY better than a roll of TP. . . ) XO

    (Also . . . super cute tablecloth!)

  6. You’re going to love the inside story in the Horowitz book. And if you do, you should go back and read Magpie Murders… another good one.

  7. I just finished Unsettled Ground, so I put Hour of the Witch on hold at the library (for my Kindle and Very convenient but sometimes two pop up then as available at once. Then you can reschedule either one for a different delivery day; it’s great!) Can’t wait to see the blocked sweater and so glad you finished it in time!!
