Around Here

It’s Tuesday and I don’t have much to talk about so let’s do a catch all post on what’s happening . . .

Delighting . . . in the antics of Fred and George. They are either fast asleep or rushing around and it’s so fun to watch them.

Watching . . . Only Murders in the Building. We just started it last night and so far I’m really enjoying it.

Recommending . . . Houses with History. I never watch HGTV but this show is set in what’s practically our backyard and it’s really fun to watch them bring old houses back to livability.

Reading . . . The Madness of Crowds by Louise Penny. I’ve been savoring it but the library books are starting to pile up on my kindle so I need to finish this one soon.

Knitting . . . a little bit as I can and I’m so grateful for it.

Contemplating . . . my One Little Word for 2022. I think I’ve found it but you know I won’t be sharing it until the new year.

Listening . . . to some of my favorite Christmas songs. I don’t decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving (mostly, the bedroom tree will probably go up very soon) but I do start listening to the music I love as soon as Halloween is over. #dontjudgeme

Planning . . . the Thanksgiving menu. But not really because does it ever really change?

And that’s it for me this Tuesday. I hope everything is perfect in your little corner of the world.

  1. I am loving the Fred and George images you are sharing… kittens are so much fun! We are watching Houses with History too! And I was wondering how near the houses were to you! 🙂

I am doing some planning here about Thanksgiving too… but you are right, does it really ever change?

    XO

  2. Sounds like a lot of good things going on at your place, Carole. It is quite a bit early for me to listen to Christmas music, but it’s your place, so you get to listen to whatever you want whenever your want! Having said that, my head would burst if I started this early – LOL. You’re right, I start worrying about Thanksgiving early, but I should have it memorized by now, but I have to think about it every year.

  3. That all sounds like Good Stuff, Carole. Tom and I watched Only Murders in the Building as it emerged . . . one episode a week. (We liked it, but think it would be more fun to watch with a little less time in between episodes.) (And never any judging. We like what we like!) XO

  4. I’m always glad to hear about Fred and George! I was surprised when discussing the Thanksgiving menu with the kids; there were so many things they thought we definitely had to have that it was basically the whole menu. I guess it doesn’t ever change, which is fine because I have pretty much perfected what to make and the whole timeline of when to make it. (But no Christmas music at our house until December!)

  5. Um, my Thanksgiving menu changes on occasion… like this year. I know some people think it’s blasphemous to have anything but turkey, but I don’t care. We’re having lasagna. And pumpkin pie (that part never changes).

  6. Fred and George must be such a delight to watch! I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and the return of the full menu. Last year we split cooking duties with my brother and sister-in-law so we could have the basics, but I’m really looking forward to having the whole family together this year and having way more food than we can possibly eat.

As far as I’m concerned, you can listen to Christmas music whenever you want, as much as you want!

  7. I’m saving Only Murders in the Building for my Thanksgiving break from school. Glad you’re enjoying it, I’ve heard great things.
