Three On Thursday

Today I have 3 things to tell you, with photos.

Thank you for the anniversary wishes! We had a wonderful evening in Plymouth at a waterfront restaurant. After dinner we drove out to the boat launch and the strawberry super moon was gorgeous. Our wedding song was Moon River so we put that on in the car, put the windows all the way down, and got out and danced on the pier. It was romantic and corny and probably the best part of the night. A stranger took our photo for us and I’m so glad we were able to capture the moment.

Yesterday was my library network’s annual meeting and the end of my year as president of the network. After I transferred the gavel over to the new president I got out my knitting, a new Musselburgh Hat for Dale. The beginning is super fiddly, so I had started it earlier at home, and the meeting and following presentations were lengthy enough that I got all the increases done and now it’s just knit, knit, knit.

Last night the library in the town where I live had a party to celebrate 125 years of library services. Dale and I went and we were joined by Jessica and Jackie and Hannah, too. There was a band and cake and my favorite local food truck and it was a really fun time. I enjoyed reminiscing about the 100th anniversary of the library, I was Director back then and there were people there who remembered the year long celebration we had. Life in a small town is good sometimes.

And that’s all I have for this Thursday. If you wrote a post for today please include your link below.

  1. What a wonderful anniversary celebration! I’m glad you can knit at library network meetings now, and there are times I feel like you live in Stars Hollow with your town celebrations!

  2. These are all great things! I’m so glad that you and Dale were able to celebrate your anniversary out — and how nice of the moon to make such a stunning guest appearance!

  3. Beautiful moon photo! So perfect!

Love the colors on Dale’s hat. What yarn are you using?

What a great thing to have a library that has been around for such a long time. And, I agree with Bonny, Stars Hollow does come to mind.

  4. Love your anniversary celebration Carole (and love that you and Dale dance so much!!). I’m probably the only person who didn’t get the Stars Hollow connection…I had to google it – LOL…but I don’t really watch TV and have never seen the Gilmore Girls, so I guess that’s no surprise. Congratulations on handing over the gavel to the Library Network and wow! 125 years for your library is wonderful. I’m another who wants to know what yarn you are using for Dale’s Musselburg.

  5. So much fun, Carole! I love your anniversary photo . . . and that gorgeous full moon for your special day. XO (And I have never watched Gilmore Girls, so didn’t get the connection until Vera filled me in with her comment. No matter, though. I did get the “charmed small town” connection regardless!)

  6. Thank you for those three smiles, Carole – always a welcome way to start my day! (and congratulations on passing on the gavel!!)
