Oh, Those Cats

I’ve gotten pretty good about planning blog posts, particularly for the last 6 months or so. But on Sunday my mind was blank about what to post this week. And then I remembered: when in doubt and in search of blog content, post about Fred and George.

Fred is in the front and George is in the back. I am continually amazed at how different they are, both in physical appearance and in personality. Fred is smaller and a little fireball of energy. He’s the first to approach someone who comes to the house. He’s the first to play with a new toy, the first to come when called, the first to settle into my lap. George is significantly larger, his fur is sooooo soft, and he’s very . . . chill. He’s game for anything but only after he says that Fred has deemed it safe. He sleeps for longer stretches and he loves to lay on his back with all 4 paws up in the air. The major thing they both have in common? They really don’t like to be picked up. They tolerate it. But it’s not their jam.

Oh, wait. There is one other thing they have in common. They have both brought us loads of joy since joining our family one year ago.

  1. It’s amazing to me that F&G have such distinct personalities! I love how they sleep curled up together and can see why you’ve enjoyed them so much.

  2. They are such beautiful cats, Carole! It’s fun to see how they’ve grown up — and into their own little personalities. I can’t imagine life without pets . . . XO

  3. Fred and George are so beautiful! Really, really gorgeous cats. Interesting how they have different personalities (but I guess siblings are like that all the time). Funny – Mabel does not like being picked up at all. She will curl up in a lap, but does not enjoy anyone picking her up. I’ve never had a cat like that before!

  4. I think it’s fair to say another thing they have in common is a lot of fans among your blog readers! They’re such sweet boys, and I’m always happy to see them in one of your posts.
