Wednesdays Are For Knitting

Hold onto your knitting needles, friends, because I have a finished project to share today!

It’s a pair of socks and I’m pretty sure they’ve never shown up here in any form prior to this. I started them ages ago and finished them just in time for the end of pride month.

The yarn is, not surprisingly, Knitterly Things. I can’t remember the name of the color but it’s a rainbow stripe and there is glitter, even though that doesn’t show up in the photos. Can we take a moment and admire Julia’s perfect stripe sequence?

Hannah saw me knitting these a while back and immediately asked if they could be for her and I immediately said of course. I’ll hand them over this weekend when we head to Maine for a family vacation . . . I just hope she won’t need to wear them while we are there. But it’s Maine in July so you never know!

  1. Absolutely gorgeous. I’ve been using your sock recipe (picot top) for years) but I do a short row heel and rounded toe.

  2. Your socks look great and the stripes match perfectly! These are really lovely and I hope Hannah doesn’t need them next week.

  3. What a lovely project to finish in Pride Month. Maybe Hannah can just wear them an early morning or two in Maine to break them in.

  4. Fabulous socks! I hope you have perfect weather in Maine, but as you say, who knows, especially these days.

  5. What great socks Carole! So many colors – just pure fun! Fletch wears the socks I knit him year round!

  6. This socks are just so fun! I am hoping you have great weather and no need of socks on your vacation to Maine… but you are wise to be prepared just in case!

  7. Great socks, Carole! The stripes are just perfect. And I really hope Hannah doesn’t need to wear them for months and months . . .

  8. Those are spectacular! I hope Hannah loves them — and that she has to wait a bit to wear them!
