Hello and happy snowy Monday! I got my wish and we have a snow day…
Maine Vacation 2025
We had a fabulous week in Maine! The weather was chilly and foggy the first few days but by Tuesday it had cleared out and warmed up and stayed beautiful for the remainder of our time. I documented the trip with photos, which I will share with you here, and videos, which I am sharing on my TikTok account. (I’d love it if you followed me there if you don’t. Not only do you get to hear my voice but you also get to see a different side of my social media presence.)
Here’s what a typical day in Bayside might look like . . .

Sunrise is early, just after 5am. I usually get up and snap a quick photo and head back to bed but one morning I woke up at 4:45 and I got up and sat on the porch and waited and watched until the sun came up. I heard the loons calling to each other as I watched the sky turn from pink to gold to orange. It was lovely and peaceful.

Most days we putter around and have breakfast and coffee but sometimes we go out. On this day we went to The Hoot and I had the huevos rancheros. It was fantastic and I really tried hard to convince myself that the guacamole counted as a vegetable.

Lunch is sometimes on the porch and a mix of snacky things and an Aperol Spritz.

Or it might be fried clams and beer at a local seafood shack.

The afternoons are spent reading on the porch, walking along the shore, swimming if you’re brave (hello cold! and jellyfish!), taking a nap, and just enjoying the sound of the ocean and the incredible view.

Sometimes we venture out for shopping or happy hour and oysters and beer.

But mostly we stay at the cottage.

Our sunsets aren’t directly in front of us like our sunrises but they still manage to put on quite a show.

No photos of me but I did take this one of everyone else the day we walked over the Passagassawakeag River and the Armistice Bridge in Belfast. It was a terrific week and I’ll be dreaming about it until next time.

What a fantastic week of weather, Carole! And what an amazing spot… my goodness, the views are just amazing! Thank you so much for sharing them!
Glorious! Beautiful pictures and now I really miss Maine! Glad you had such a nice time.
Oh my, Carole! I am green with envy. This looks like the perfect vacation to me. Beautiful weather, downtime, and the views are just unbelievable. Hope you feel refreshed and ready to return to everyday life.
Every year, you make wish I was in Maine when I enjoy your photos. While avocado is technically a fruit, it is packed with healthy fats, nutrients like potassium and Vitamin K, and a surprising amount of fiber. I say, close enough to call it a vegetable. Welcome back!
What a perfect vacation! Let me know when you’re going next year and I’ll come along! đŸ˜‰
Oh, what a lovely spot, Carole! I’m so glad you enjoyed such a great vacation week. XO
Gosh, it looks like an amazing vacation! I don’t love it when I wake up that early in the morning, but I think getting to see that sunrise to that soundtrack would be worth it (and, of course, when you’re on vacation, you can always take a nap later). I’m so glad it was such a wonderful trip! Thanks for sharing a little bit of it with us.
Looks like absolute heaven to me! Thanks for sharing.
It looks lovely! I haven’t been to Maine in years and reading about your trip makes me think it may be time to go back for a visit!
Great vacation pictures!
Oh, that looks so PERFECT!! Everyone looks happy & relaxed. I’ve never been to Maine… must correct that oversight someday.
