This week’s recommendation is one that will cost money, should you choose to make a purchase. It’s money well spent, though, or I wouldn’t suggest it.

What is it, you ask?

Bombas socks.

I know, I know, many of us are sock knitters and buying socks feels like a sacrilege. Hear me out, though, because these socks are amazing. They are soft and hug your feet in a truly wonderful way. They come in colors and patterns and many, many styles. My favorites are the Lodge socks and they pair perfectly with Birkenstock clogs. Just saying.

The great thing about Bombas socks is that for every pair you purchase, they donate a pair to Giving Partner Organizations in all 50 states. That’s something that makes me feel good about them as a company and I love that their products are going to help individuals in need when I make a purchase.

Let me know if you’re already a fan or if I’ve convinced you to give them a try.

  1. Fan! I generally give the nieces and nephews socks for Christmas. I think they will get Bombas this year! Thanks Carole.

  2. I’m sure they’re great but my sock drawer is overflowing. I received a pair of Darn Tough socks for Christmas ~10 years ago and was so impressed with them that I bought more for myself and for the whole family whenever they went on sale. The rest of the family has yelled, “No more socks!” so I guess they won’t be getting any socks, Darn Tough or Bombas, for Christmas.

  3. Oh, I much prefer commercially-made socks to the ones I knit myself. I know it’s verboten to say that outloud in the knitting community, but it’s true for me, for sure. And Bombas socks are really great. I have several pair (and so does Tom), and I love the look, the fit, the way they wear, and their philanthropy. Great rec!

  4. Helpful review. I’ve seen them advertised for years. I’ve seen others recommend them, but never by anyone I know. I have chubby calves, so I don’t often buy long socks. But, taking a look might convince me to try them.

  5. I haven’t tried Bombas, andI do not particularly care for handknit socks unless they are sleep socks. I like the process of knitting them, but not so much wearing them. I like those finely knit socks that I cannot replicate. I may try some Bombas on your recommendation, but I have recently become a Thorlos super fan. I am of the age where I have thinning on the bottom of my feet, and Thorlo’s maximum cushioning socks are wonderful for that. I am an avid walker, and those socks are full of thrums that cushion and wick sweat away from your feet. They are expensive, but worth it for me. I just wish they came in more attractive styles and colors. I can wear them all day without any discomfort, and my feet stay dry.

  6. Mailing wears a lot of Bombas socks. I noticed they also sell bras – I may need to give them a try!

  7. I’m like Kym, I haven’t worn my handknit socks. I do like Bombas socks though and have to check out the styles as I got mine years ago.
