Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about the state of my hands and the epic dry skin I have? Several of you recommended products in the comments and I tried a couple and today I am endorsing (and recommending, since it’s a Tuesday) two of them.

The first is Atrac-Tain Superior Moisturizing Cream. This is intended for diabetic foot care but anyone can (and should!) use it. I keep this on my nightstand and use it every night on my hands and also my elbows. The change in the skin on my elbows is amazing, it’s not dry and scaly at all now. And my hands are also vastly improved.

The other one I bought and now love is Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream. I have this in my kitchen and I actually just ordered another one to keep at work. I do think the soap in the bathroom at work is at least partially responsible for the condition of my hands so having this moisturizer there to use throughout the day should make a difference as well.

Both are fragrance free and non greasy. I bought them on Evil Amazon but they are available from other online sources and locally, too, depending on your preference for shopping.

So, goodbye to my beloved Aveeno and hello to Atrac-Tain and Vanicream!

  1. I’m glad you found some things that work! My feet are terrible after the winter so I need to start using Atrac-Tain on them. It does need a better name; I keep calling at Attack Train.

  2. So glad you found what works for you. Moisturizing is so important!! I’m pretty religious about moisturizing my hands and feet daily (and, of course, my face).

  3. I am a Vanicream True Believer! Glad it’s worked for you, too. (This winter, I’ve turned Tom into a Vanicream Zealot as well.) I buy Vanicream at my local Ulta. It’s available from Ulta online as well – fast shipping. (Just sayin.) (In case anyone is looking for an Amazon alternative.)
