It was hot and humid and sunny here yesterday.
That made it the perfect day to:
splash in the water.
knit on the beach.
and take a sail.
The vacation is going quite well so far.
A friend of ours told us about an abandoned field of blueberry bushes so last weekend we went in search of it. We found it but it was really overgrown and the blueberries weren’t very accessible. The trip wasn’t a total bust, though, as we spotted this flock of wild turkeys in a nearby yard.
It’s nice to see the critters are doing so well in our area these days. Makes me feel all Pilgrimy.
So I’m on vacation for the next two weeks. I’m home this week and then next week is our annual trip to Cape Cod. In the interest of spending less time on the computer and more time knitting, spinning, hanging out and all that good stuff, I’m going to take a slightly different approach to blogging this week. The plan is to post a picture (or two) every day of someplace I’ve been or something I’ve seen or something I’ve done. Sort of like Eye Candy Friday but on the other days of the week.
Let’s start with this one.
This is the backyard of one of our fellow Kiwanians and the site of a really fun Kiwanis cook out last week. My vacation is already off to a great start!
I really do try to plan my blog posts and come up with something to entertain you all. Lately I feel like I’ve been slacking in that department but I’m hoping you haven’t noticed. Perhaps bringing it up isn’t the best idea, eh?
Anyway, I was thinking about you all yesterday so I took the camera and went for a little walk around the yarn yard. Here’s what I found:
Lovely yellow and orange daffodils.
A crab apple tree loaded with buds.
More daffodils, these of the white and yellow variety.
Forsythia. Beautiful, yellow forsythia.
And that’s my yard these days. What’s going on in your backyard?
