The Think Write Thursday prompt for February 23, 2017 is to write about the movie you can quote from the most. This may or may not be your favorite movie but you all know what we mean, right? What’s that movie, the one that once you start quoting from (probably with your friends) and you just can’t stop? Share some of your favorite quotes and tell us why you think it’s just so darn quotable.
Do you quote movies with your friends? I sure do and we’ve been known to quote everything from Elf to When Harry Met Sally to Young Frankenstein. I think, though, the movie I can quote from the most has to be Steel Magnolias. In fact, just last week, we quoted it long and hard at book club. There’s just so much good material there.
Here’s one of my very favorites:
Clairee: I’ve just been to the dedication of the new children’s park.
Truvy: Yeah, how did that go?
Clairee: Janice Van Meter got hit with a baseball. It was fabulous.
Truvy: Was she hurt?
Clairee: I doubt it. She got hit in the head.
And there are just so many more. You can read some for yourself here but that list is far from complete! It’s almost (but not quite) as good as seeing the movie.
Do you have a favorite movie quote? Or a whole bunch like I do? I’d love to hear about them in the comments.
