Eye Candy Friday

February 16, 2007 By Carole

The plants at the library really thrive. Some people think it’s the fluorescent lights. But I think it’s because I don’t go near them.

Oh look something green! Is your library warm? Ours is not and the plants there look much like mine at home, on the verge of death.

LOL~~All our Library plants are *fake* that’s how they stay green!
As always something nice to look at on a gloomy, cold winter morn!

It’s lovely! I have a plant at home that is suffering right now. I think, like the rest of us, it just wants spring to get here. Can you blame it?

I dunno… if you can do cream puffs surely you must have a lush jungle of house plants, right? 🙂

It’s funny how plants do great in some places with virtually no care and in other places you couldn’t keep them alive if you talked to them 24/7. Have a nice weekend Miss Carole!

OH! And I got the STR yesterday! PERFECT colors to go with my Noro Entrelac Scarf! Can’t wait to cast on for those mitts! Yay!

And those cream puffs look yummy – what a wonderful tradition.

Nah, it’s all the great thoughts that are always floating around in a library. When a schefflera got too big for our living room (now THERE’s a plant that’s hard to kill) I donated it to the library at my kids’ school. They had skylights and big plants atop the waist-high shelves — a perfect setting.

I wish I had a green thumb too. I actually killed a jade plant. Yup, I managed to murder a plant that is supposedly unkillable!

GREAT shot! And btw…I LOVE the two pair of socks below, and the cream puffs just make me crazy, wanting one (or 6 or 10!).

And I’m just toooooo happy that your test came back with normal results!!

First of all…LOVE the cream puff story. I know you sing Dale’s praises all the time(and with good reason, it seems), but I think you must be pretty wonderful yourself. 🙂 As for the plant…let’s just say that the only plants in my life that thrive are the three that live in my school library with me…or in spite of me. I feel ya.

I actually started learning about making sourdough bread a week before the stay at home orders thanks to @sprboston as he shared his starter and recipe and technique with me. Since then I have kept Mama Cass fed and alive and have baked many loaves of bread. This one might be my best one yet. I did the final proof in the fridge for 24 hours and baked it from its cold state.
