ETA: Cheryl and I, along with Helen, have made a command decision. We will have a blogger meet up at NH Sheep & Wool at Noon on Saturday outside the Roby Building, in the area facing the Goat Barn. Be there or be square.
There’s nothing like the
threat promise of an upcoming fiber festival to put me in the spinning mood. I’m not sure if it’s thinking about the festival and all that good spinning mojo that gets me going or if it’s needing to make room for incoming fiber – although I suspect it’s the latter. In any case, New Hampshire Sheep & Wool is this weekend and I’ve been spinning down the stash like crazy for the past week or so. Wanna see?
Spunky Eclectic Monthly Fiber Club for March. Superwash Merino in the colorway Dandy Lion. Enough for very short socks, I think.
Spunky Eclectic Monthly Fiber Club for April. Corriedale in the colorway Strawberry Fields. Hannah has requested a hat and I’m thinking the teen version from the Hat Trifecta.
Grafton Fiber in the most stunning blue. I’ve got 500+ yards of this and I’m considering a shawl. Or perhaps a scarf. Or maybe even a hat and mittens. Anything but socks. Heh.
Black Lamb Merino & Silk. This was in my Yarn Aboard package from Cynthia. I Navajo plyed the singles to keep the colors separate. Aren’t they just like a rainbow? There’s only about 100 yards so I’ll save this to put with something else.
There’s a bit more room in the fiber drawer now. Time for shopping! So, who else is going to be in New Hampshire on Saturday? Blogger meet up, anyone?
It all looks FABULOUS! That blue (swoon).
Those skeins are beautiful- and I lovethe spinning to make “room for more fiber” concept. See you Saturday!
it’s fascinating how different our yarns look — ha!
i’ll be there!
Beautiful spinning! I’ll be dragging my husband and kids to NHS&W on Saturday. Hope to see you there!
So pretty – like spring flowers!
Wow! You made some beautiful yarn. I hope to be at the NHS&W on Sunday… Have fun on Saturday. The weather is promising to be a lot better than last year.
If I didn’t have all those people coming to my house—I’d be telling you where to find Mexican food in Concord, NH! 🙂
great spinning, btw… looks yummy!
And your yarn shop opens when? Just gorgeous! I love how he Dandy Lion spun up!
Love me them blues! (Not to slight the other colors; they are beautiful too.) See you Saturday. I can hardly wait.
I love the look of the Navajo plied yarn!
I will be there on Saturday. Let me know if there is a blogger meet up. I will definitely attend!
I really need NO fiber, but you can be sure to find me walking around with a big bag of something of the wooly variety ……. ah, the addiction is terrible.
Looking forward to “meeting” you in person 🙂
Waaaaa…look at all the people who will be there. You have been spinning like crazy. It all looks so good.
Robin in VA says
WOW…it’s all so beautiful! Have fun at the festival this weekend.
You HAVE been busy…yikes! It’s all very pretty!
Ken and I will be floating around NH, so a meetup would be fun 🙂
Carole – those are just beautiful! I love the Dandy Lion color the best. but the rest are all ties for second. I’ll just have to be with you in spirit at the festival and await your photo essay upon your return. Buy for all of us.
It all looks wonderful! I am partial to the Strawberry Fields colorway myself.
I won’t be going to NH unfortunately. I need little break after going to festivals two weeks in a row. I do believe I am going to try to get to the MA festival for the first time though. Have a great time on Saturday!
It all looks great! I really love the Strawberry Fields. I haven’t gotten to mine yet, but I’m going to have to after seeing your yarn.
I’d love to be in New Hampshire on Sunday, but that’s a heck of a long flight for me 🙂 I hope you have a great time, and be sure to buy lots of beautiful fiber!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I especially love the blue, yellow, green colorway. Mme Purl and I will be at NH S&W on Saturday, look out for us if you’re there that day.
Nice job on the spinning! Linda at Grafton Fibers really does have a way with color!
A blogger meet-up would be fun. I was thinking maybe 12 noon gathering, but right now the Yankee Shepherd website is done, so I don’t have a fairgrounds map.
Beautiful stuff! It’s the aftermath of the fiber fests that put me in the spinning mood. I got tons of stuff last weekend and I still haven’t used a couple of things that I got 2 years ago! (Of course, I didn’t spin the stuff from two years ago, but had to get out some of the new stuff.)
Pretty! Pretty! That Black Lamb is a lot of fun.
wow, you have been busy. looks beautiful and yea for hannah wanting a hat.
You certainly have been busy! They’re all lovely.
I’ll run into you on Sat, and if I don’t find you soon I’ll call your cell. I’ll be trying out wheels in the Russo and Golding booths.
I’ve been spinning like crazy all week too, trying to clear off bobbins for the plying workshop on Sunday.
Beautiful job on all of these. I think I like the strawberry fields the best. Next time I need a fiber fix, I’m going to have to go for some of that. Of course that might be a while after Maryland. 😉

Ooh, I love the Grafton Fiber blues! Hopefully we’ll make it up saturday-I was going to make it a weekend dillio, but reality of baby-budgeting has cut it down to just a saturday trip. Boo-hoo!
It’s all gorgeous … I’ll see you Saturday!

One of these years I’ll make it to NH. But with the boychild being just 6 years old I don’t even want to think about the mommy-points I’d lose being away on Mother’s Day.
Wow! You’ve been very busy. All of the spinning looks great. I really love the Fiber Club stuff. Go fill that fiber drawer back up now.
All so pretty! Have fun at NHS&W — how far a drive is that for you?
Marcia Cooke says
Don’t cry, Margene: I can’t go either. (See Karen’s comments!) But, I must say that Carole is on to something here. It’s amazing how much smaller the yarn looks than the pile o’fiber it came from. Beautiful yarns, Carole!
Dave Daniels says
Whoa, Carole, that’s great stuff! And I thought I was being a prolific spinner. Great job on all of them. I’ll miss seeing you this weekend. (Gotta work.)
Yarn – homespun yarn – one of the happiest most beautiful things in the world. I guess I get emotional about everyone’s spinning – not just my own. heh Beautiful Carole. 🙂
blogless sharon says
gorgeous stuff, your spinning is great. Tell Dale to look for big Al. we’ll be there for the day. cell phones on!!!
Beth S. says
I’m hoping I’ll make it. The parents are coming for a weekend visit, and I may just round everyone up on Saturday morning and inform them that we are all going to New Hampshire for the day. 😉
I’m curious–when you have a wheel in (almost?) every room, how do you choose which one to spin on? Does it depend on the kind of fiber you’re using, or the weight of yarn you want to spin, or is it just about what room of the house you feel like spending time in? 😉
Have a wonderful time! And you can now purchase fiber extravagantly knowing you’ve got some space in the drawer for it, eh?
I may run into you there. . .:-)
Very pretty spinning! Have fun at the festival!
Fiber *drawer*??? Bwahahahaha! Oh, Carole, that’s priceless. 😀
Crafting Jen says
Oh, good, I’ve been watching for someone to declare a blogger meeting at NH! I’ll be there with my husband Saturday.
Thanks,Carole and Helen!
Beautiful stuff! Not looking like I will make it, but if I do, I’m sure we’ll bump into one another, at the meetup or elsewhere.
I’ll be with ya sister in mind, not body. Too far to travel from California! But I’ll be at Black Sheep in June in Eugene Oregon!
Have a lovely weekend!
drool, drool, drool *g*
I’m sadly square. Boo hoo hoo.
I WISH I could be there, but DH said “not unless you win the lotto”. Guess I better go buy a ticket.
Your new yarns are absolutely beautiful. That’s very smart of you to spin it up to make room for more fiber!
What amazing skeins!!! My gosh – just gorgeous 🙂
Wow! You’ve been busy! Everything looks great!
Lovely, lovely, lovely!
Your yarn is beautiful! Have fun this weekend.

that Black Lamb is my fav – although the deep blue is amazing as well.
Happy shopping, must fill us the stash again!
