Eye Candy Friday

August 3, 2007 By Carole

white_phlox.jpg

The tall phlox in my garden is glorious right now. I love the big white puffy blossoms but I also love the spiky buds, too.
Have a fabulous weekend!

I have them- about 5 1/2 feet tall, but still not blooming. I wonder if the nearby dogwood that has extended her branches outwarly robbing them of a bit of sun is the culprit. Time will tell. Yours are beautiful!

So beautiful! The hydrangea are out now too, and I love that lacy look. I might have to plant some of those, even though I was planning a garden of irises.

I just bought a phlox from the “half off” table at the local nursery – of course, it’s only got one scrawney looking stem at this moment, and isn’t yet lovely like yours 🙂 Thanks for showing how gorgeous they truly are!

Thanks for the Eye Candy Friday inspiration last time with the strawberries. I photographed some blueberries after seeing yours and grabbed an ECF button.

The phlox is lovely. Just beautiful.

If there’s one thing the pandemic has been good If there’s one thing the pandemic has been good for, it’s my sourdough game. I actually started learning about making sourdough bread a week before the stay at home orders thanks to @sprboston as he shared his starter and recipe and technique with me. Since then I have kept Mama Cass fed and alive and have baked many loaves of bread. This one might be my best one yet. I did the final proof in the fridge for 24 hours and baked it from its cold state.
