Eye Candy Friday

Monarch Butterfly blog size

Last Thursday I read about migrating butterflies and that it was the peak time for this in my area. I came home and found this guy hanging out on my asters. Coincidence? I think not!

I’m looking forward to a beautiful fall weekend. Hope you are too!

  1. So pretty! We don’t get Monarch butterflies down here. (At least I’ve never seen one.) I hadn’t noticed that their bodies are spotted.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  2. What a beauty! Years ago my older girl’s teacher gave her a monarch cocoon. We went through the entire process at home. Awesome memory for us both! Enjoy!

  3. How pretty! We don’t see Monarchs as often here as you do in the East. I tried planting milkweeds in a natural area at my old house to attract them, but wasn’t ever able to get them to grow. Imagine that, I couldn’t grow weeds…..

  4. Lovely Monarch! We have a Monarch chrysalis on the side of our house right now – the grand unveiling should be about this time next week. I’m hoping to get pictures before it heads off to sunny Mexico. 🙂

  5. This is one of my favorite photos you have taken Carol! I really need to take a ‘learn to use my camera’ class!

Also – thank you for my birthday greetings on FB!
