Several of you expressed interest in the mini chicken pot pies I made for our…
Pumpkin Whoopie Pies
It seems like pumpkins are everywhere I turn these days. There are pumpkins to be carved and pumpkins to be baked and pumpkins to be turned into delicious treats. I wanted a fun and easy dessert to go with our turkey dinner last Sunday so I made Pumpkin Whoopie Pies.
They were awesome. I used a recipe I found on Home: Made Simple and the only thing I changed was to double it. I think I wound up with about 24 whoopie pies.
The cream cheese frosting is delicious and the cake is light and flavorful and everyone really loved them.
While I believe that traditional Whoopie Pies made with chocolate cake and buttercream frosting are still the best thing going, I will definitely be making these pumpkin ones again!

O.K. this is scary. Last week I had bookmarked this recipe while planning what to bring to our annual UCONN tailgate. Never did get to make them as I was a bit tight on time. Now I Must make them! I think I’ll bring them to Vermont when we go to visit friends in a couple of weeks. My mother-in-law made the best traditional whoopie pies!!
Wow! One of our knitting friends brought the exact same thing to our
knitting group Tuesday! Yummmmmmy!!!
My kids LOVE pumpkin whoopie pies … thanks for the link to the receipe!
Yum! Yum! Yum! I definitely have to make those! You know, I think whoopie pies are a regional thing. I’ve never seen them down here.
Mmm, will have to make these. They look delicious!
Clever girl! They look delicious. Enjoy the taste of fall!
Yum – Daniel has a penchant for pumpkin chocolate chip cookies!
How nifty! A co-worker’s spouse just sent these along to us here–now I know where she got the recipe! 🙂
Seriously? Why do you do this to us?! Now we are all going to have to make them and then eat them and that doesn’t help me drop any weight!
Thanks. I now need a new keyboard because my current one is filled up with droooooollllll!!!!
What a yummy looking photograph!
Oh. My. Oh, oh, oh, do those ever look fantastic.
MMMM–they look good and I happen to already have all the ingredients!
Wow! Those look delicious. We’ll have to try them.
looks like this could be on the table for thanksgiving… !
Mmmmmm – cooking a turkey dinner is a great idea! and those whooppies look like fun too.
That actually doesn’t sound too bad, and I don’t like pumpkin!
One of my friends just posted the recipe to facebook yesterday, right as DD and I were pulling a pumpkin custard out of the oven. Autumn is here! I’ll have to figure out a good non-gluten version.
Whoopie pies are one of my favorites! Many of the local bakeries around here make them. In addition to the standard chocolate with a white icing, there are pumpkin, red velvet & chocolate with peanut butter icing. 🙂
Yours look delicious!
They look yummy. Might have to give them a whirl!
You’re so creative!
Yum!
OMG. Pack a few of those up and send them over. I’ll pay shipping. They look yummy!
Mmmmmm, those look delish! I love all things pumpkin, so I’m going to have to print & try that recipe 🙂
I’m with you–a traditional whoopie pie is my absolute favorite treat! These look delish, too!
Oh….. do these look yummy. I am going to have to make these with my nieces.
I will have to make pumpkin whoopie pies soon. As soon as we are finished with the red velvet mini-cupcakes and brownies I made over the weekend.
I made these last year too. Did you notice that the batter is almost identical to the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies batter?
Oh, those have my mouth watering – they look so good!
OMG! I think I just died and gone to heaven… I cannot get enough pumpkin this time of year!
Yum! Those look delicious.
