Two Jacks

My father-in-law Jack came home from his 4 month hospital/rehab stay yesterday. And that meant that the moment we had been anticipating for 2 months and 1 day finally happened: Big Jack met Baby Jack.

As you can imagine, it was very exciting. And emotional.

I love the way they are looking at each other here. One wise old soul meeting another, I think. And the smiles on the faces of Jessica and Eryk as they watch the moment happen are pretty great.

Jack looked at him for a few moments and then said something along the lines of, “aren’t you a fine little fellow,” and then he just pulled him right up on his shoulder and little Jackie settled right into it.

It was one of those circle of life moments I won’t forget. And boy it sure is good to have Jack next door again.

  7. So glad to hear that Jack is back home. You need to get a generational picture, Carole. I have one of four generations sitting together, and it is priceless, and rare, I think. These pictures are so poignant. You all got a great Christmas present this year.

  8. What a lovely early Christmas present. Since you are SO good about documenting these moments and taking photos, Little Jack will always have this moment [and many more] with Big Jack. So sweet thank you for sharing.
