Hello from the South Shore of Massachusetts, the epicenter of Snowmageddon 2026. I'm grateful that…
Garden Update
Before we left for our Maine vacation I took photos of my dahlia beds. I wanted to document their growth while I was gone and I’m so glad I did because . . . well, see for yourself.

That’s a LOT of growth! I planted 14 tubers, total, 8 in Bed #1 and 6 in Bed #2. When we left for Maine, there were 13 tubers sprouted and just before we came home our last little straggler finally broke through so now 100% came up. Last year was my first year growing dahlias and my success rate was less than 50% so I’m very happy about this growth. And I have to give mad props to my friend and neighbor Sean for taking such good care of them while I was away.
Right now there are 3 plants with buds so the race to see who blooms first is ON!

I can’t wait to see the blooms!!! 🙂
They have grown nicely and I don’t see any weeds! Like Kym, I’m looking forward to seeing your blossoms.
Wow! And buds! I can’t wait to see them! 🙂
When gardens start to explode, they REALLY explode. Congratulations on 100% germination – like everyone else, I cannot wait to see the blooms.
What a great homecoming! Enjoy!
Yay! I love dahlia time! I don’t grow them myself, so very much enjoy when people share theirs!
It really is amazing how much of a difference you can see when you’re away for a bit! Looking forward to seeing the blooms!
