Weekending, July 25th – 27th, 2025

Here’s a list of some good things about this weekend, the last one of July . . .

I had a great massage on Friday. Sometimes I can’t believe I pay good money for her to essentially beat the crap out of me but it’s good for me in the grand scheme of things.

I didn’t have to go anywhere on Saturday or Sunday.

I cleaned out and organized a cabinet in our mudroom that was completely out of control.

I made good food, including a terrific breakfast of eggs, bacon and hash browns on our Weber griddle. Seriously, the bacon on that thing is perfection.

I finished the book Hunter’s Heart Ridge. I’ll share my full review next week but this is the second in the Vermont series and I think I liked it even better than the first.

I spent time in my studio, catching up in my journal, working on some simple watercolor postcards, and letting my creativity flow.

Finally, because every post needs a photo . . . and because Vicki said she’d be fine with dahlia photos every day . . .

My first Kenora Lisa dahlia blossom. It’s a new variety to me this year and she’s stunning.

I hope you had a great weekend!

  1. What a fantastic weekend, Carole! It must have been the weekend for tackling out of control cupboards! I overhauled the shelves above the washer! They look so organized! Ha! Thanks for that dahlia image… it is stunning! (and happy Monday, my friend!)

  2. I love weekends when I don’t have to go anyplace! Unfortunately for me, this was not one of them. But yours sounds great, and I would also be fine with a dahlia photo every day.

  3. What a great weekend. A massage!! (I really, really need one.). I took it easy and didn’t do much other than an errand or two and laundry. Beyond that I just took it easy which was perfect for moi.

  4. Oh, that’s beauty!!

Turns out, I didn’t have to do what I thought I had to do yesterday*, and I ended up having a Pajama Day! It was so hot & icky outside… I didn’t really want to go anywhere, anyway. Did some sewing & knitting, took a nap. Great way to wind up the weekend.

*It’s today (I’d entered it wrong in my calendar).

  5. Oh, I think a Daily Dahlia is a fine idea! 🙂 Sounds like a great weekend, Carole.
