This weekend felt a lot like last weekend. It was cold and I never left…
Labor Day Weekend, Now With Photos
I think (fingers crossed) that the various problems associated with the blog are resolved. Comments seem to be working and I’ve figured out a way to get photos here as well, thanks to some great advice from Kym and some step-by-step directions from ChatGPT. Please let me know if you encounter anything unusual.
Onward . . . or backwards . . . to last weekend.
Our camper is now situated at Bourne Scenic Park at the base of the Bourne Bridge overlooking the Cape Cod Canal. We have a sliver of a view of the canal from the camper (it was better in the spring when the trees weren’t all leafed out) and a wide open view of the canal is only steps away. It’s lovely to sit and watch the water and see all the different boats that go by. The people watching is pretty good, too, as there are lots and lots of walkers, runners, and cyclists.

I plan to take a photo from this spot every week, I think it will be cool to watch the seasons change since we’ll be going until the end of October.

The weather last weekend was ideal fall camping, which was great, but I wouldn’t have minded if it had felt more summer-like so that we could have taken advantage of the swimming pool. The mornings were cool and crisp and the afternoons were comfortable but not hot.

Hannah came to visit on Saturday afternoon and we went out for lunch to celebrate her birthday – which was yesterday and she’s 33. (I’m not sure how that happened, frankly.) This is the 2nd year in a row we’ve had lobster rolls for her birthday and I told her that means it’s now officially a tradition.

Sunday was Fred & George’s birthday and they are four! They didn’t get any lobster but they did get some bits of bacon for breakfast and they spent some time outside at the campfire. I think they are starting to enjoy their little playpen thing because the minute they see me bring it out they are clamoring at the camper door.
And that, my friends, was Labor Day Weekend 2025.

I hope I can reply now. I tried and tried to reply earlier in the week. Sorry that you had so much trouble with the blog! I appreciate all the effort you expend to do this without all these problems. Your weekend looks really restful and lovely, Carole. I am envious every time you post about a camping trip!
It was a great weekend and it looks like you made the most of it (sans swimming) Happy belated birthday to Hannah, Fred and George! (and I am really glad things are back working here again!!)
I’m glad you got things fixed, complete with photos! Happy Birthday to Hannah; my kids are 32 and 34 and I’m not sure how that happened either. Here’s to lobster rolls and a view of the changing seasons!
Oh, YAY. So glad you’ve got a (hopefully) workable blog solution! I’m really excited for you . . . to have a lovely campsite for the season. I bet you’re going to love getting away on the regular this fall. I hope Hannah had a great birthday. (And Erin recently turned 36. I refuse to believe she is already 36. But . . . I was there. So believe I must.) And . . . those shoes! Details, please.
Happy Birthday to Hannah, Fred & George!!
How nice that you have a getaway spot — I hope you’ll share photos as the seasons change. I’m starting to see a (very little) bit of color around here, and more leaves on the ground than I’m used to. 😉
Blue skies, fires, and lobster rolls? Sounds amazing to me!
Birthday Lobster Rolls sound like a great tradition. And bacon for kitty birthdays! Happy Birthday to Hannah, Fred and George. I think it’s so cute that Fred and George are enjoying camping with you. I hope you share your weekly photos as well.
BTW, I was unable to access this post until this morning. And, I received an email indicating that you have an “Eye candy Friday” post up, but it is not showing for me…yet…
Happy Weekend!
