This weekend felt a lot like last weekend. It was cold and I never left…
Weekending, September 5th – 7th, 2025
Another weekend at our camper is in the books. The bad news is that it was very windy on both Friday and Saturday night so we did not have a campfire. The good news is that it was warm enough to go swimming!

We ventured over the bridge on Saturday afternoon and drove to Mashpee Town Beach, the place where we vacationed in a rental house for over 10 years. The waves were huge and the water was glorious, September is a wonderful time to get in the ocean on the Cape. I almost didn’t go in because those huge waves can be a little violent, frankly, but I made myself say YES and I’m very glad I did. No summer should pass without at least one swim in the ocean. When we left the beach we drove through the neighborhood where we stayed and the flood of memories was precious and a little overwhelming, honestly.
It rained heavily on Sunday morning and the camper was cozy. We watched the Pats game and then headed home.

And here’s your Bourne Bridge photo of the week. I don’t think it looks much different from last week’s but I am seeing leaves changing in other areas around me.
I hope your weekend was a satisfying one.

Sounds like a very relaxing weekend Carole. Glad you did go in the ocean! We had a rainy Sunday too.
This sounds like a delightful weekend, and even better that you’ve got many more great camper weekends to look forward to!
I’m glad you conquered your doubts and went in the water anyway! And I love seeing a side view of the Bourne Bridge — definitely preferable to sitting in traffic on it!
What FUN! So glad you had a chance to swim in the ocean! XO
