Moment of truth: I never left my house all weekend. Yep from the time I…
Weekending, September 26th-28th, 2025
We had another great weekend of camping by the canal. The weather continues to be comfortable and summery. In fact, we had the windows in the camper open all weekend, which was great.

We settled in Friday night with snacks, watching with amusement as people parked their campers. It’s a great sport in the camping community, I have to say. We also took a walk later that night by the canal. It was so quiet and Dale steered us into an area of the path that was secluded and still and the combined smells of salt air, pine trees, and campfires was heady.

Dale had to work with the band on Saturday afternoon so the cats and I hung around at the campground. I ventured out for pumpkins and mums to decorate outside the camper. Do you spy the cat in that photo?

And then I read my book (Buckeye, which I finished yesterday while sitting by the canal) and the cats did what they do best. Do you see how their legs are intertwined? So sweet.

We had a campfire that night and it was wonderful to sit and talk and listen to music. The season is winding down and I don’t take any of these nights for granted.

On Sunday we went out to breakfast and then came back and set up our chairs by the canal. The people watching is fun, there are lots of bikers and joggers and walkers going by. And boats, of course. I had my knitting and snapped this photo in commemoration of when we used to always take photos of our knitting in the wild.

And here’s your weekly Bourne Bridge photo. Still looking pretty much the same. I may not have chosen the best spot to capture the seasonal changes.
How was your weekend?

What a lovely weekend Carole. Knitting in the Wild!! Love it. I remember the sport of watching others park their campers. Very funny at times. You remind me that I need/want to get some pumpkins and gourds. Fletch picked up gorgeous mums the other week, so we are all set on that front. Hope the week is a good one and that it goes fast so you can get back to the campground!
Looks like another perfect weekend, Carole. You seem to be able to organize those all the time! Good think you don’t get to see me try to park anything big because I am a hazard. I think I spot the cat behind the purple mums? Definitely a challenge to spot the cat. Your cats are so sweet in their mutual affection.
Carole, what a delightful weekend! You make me contemplate camping! Gah! Haha! It was an early football weekend here… Sunday morning the Steelers played in Ireland. Fun times and a win! Ha! I made meatloaf and it was the quintessential fall supper!
It sounds like a lovely weekend! Watching camper parking while eating snacks sounds like some fun entertainment. I do remember taking several pictures of my knitting with the Delaware Memorial Bridge when we were driving back and forth to Maryland. Maybe I’ll take one today when I go down to check on Nugget one last time.
Great weekend Carole! And campers are sooooo big these days!
Sounds like another lovely weekend! We went out to eat on Friday and sat outside, where we watched someone parallel park badly, but I’m guess it’s a lot more entertaining to watch people park campers! I zoomed in on the mums/pumpkins photo and could not find the cat, so whichever cat is was must’ve been very well hidden.
I’m so glad you had such a perfect weekend in the camper! The mums are such a nice touch. XO
