Weekending, October 3rd-5th, 2025

I don’t know if another weekend at the campground is boring for you, but it’s still a treat for me. And the weather this weekend! Talk about a treat, it was warm and sunny and felt like late summer instead of early fall.

In case you ever think Fred and George aren’t totally into the camping scene. It’s a shame they don’t know how to relax.

We had a movie night outside by the campfire. I had technical difficulties with this the previous week but figured out everything correctly this time except for the sound, we had to listen on the projector speakers instead of my bluetooth one. I got that sorted out Sunday morning so we’ll be doing this again next weekend. Anyway, I highly recommend Practical Magic any time of year but especially now. And especially if you can watch it by a campfire.

Dale spent a bit of time decorating out campsite for Halloween. Next weekend is the big event at the campground with a site decorating contest, a golf cart parade, live bands and food trucks, and trick out treating. People kept saying on Saturday that this guy looked hungry so we fed him breakfast on Sunday morning. I think he’s got a ways to go, though.

And here’s your weekly bridge shot. If you look carefully you can see some foliage starting to change but it’s still very faint.

  3. It all looks like great fun. I am sorry the cats are so stressed. They remind me of my dog. He can’t relax either, hehe. If only he could teach me how to instantaneously turn it all off, I would be a much healthier old lady. I love these camping posts, keep them coming as long as it lasts.

  4. It was an amazing weekend… the weather was perfect! It was a weekend to remember… especially since how many more weekends like that can there be?

We had an amazing run of perfect weather (although we could’ve used a little rain in the mix. . . ) From late August through the first few days of October, I felt like I was living in California or something! Highs in the 70s and blue skies EVERY FREAKIN’ DAY. There was some “ridge” of some type of air just hovering over Michigan, and I have never seen a more pleasant 6 weeks of delightful weather in my life. Now it’s chilly — but still gorgeous. Maybe the leaves will finally begin to change. . .

    So glad you’re enjoying lovely days for camping! XO
