This weekend felt a lot like last weekend. It was cold and I never left…
Weekending, October 24th – 26th, 2025
And just like that, our fall season of camping has come to an end.

I’m sure going to miss this view out the window of my camper and I’m also truly grateful for the 9 wonderful weeks we spent there.

We celebrated our last weekend with plenty of good time around the campsite and plenty of good food to go with it. We had Friday Night Snacks, of course.

And Dale made his famous fried dough for us on Saturday morning. This is a camping tradition of ours and we bookended this entire season with it since he also made it on Memorial Day weekend back in May.

We had a great campfire. I honestly think I prefer a daytime fire, there’s just something so indulgent about it.

We made savory s’mores one last time. It’s tricky to get the cheese to melt without having it fall into the fire (I lost one) but that gooey cheese on a cracker is worth the effort.

And I took my final photo of the Bourne Bridge.
I’ve got my calendar marked for next February when the long term off season reservations open up and I’m really hoping we get this spot again. Thanks for following along on our fall camping experience!

All good things must come to an end, unfortunately. Something to look forward to next year.
You’ve enjoyed such a wonderful caping season Carole. Fingers crossed you can get the same spot again next year. I never thought of doing savory s’mores, but what a great idea!!
What a fantastic 9 weeks, Carole! I will have my fingers crossed that you can get that same spot (the views are just spectacular!!)
Wow, you sure had nicer weather weather than we have here. We’ve had lots of rain and more expected. We did need rain though as it’d been super dry all summer. I wonder whether GS campers would like those savory s’mores? They are very creative!
It doesn’t seem like you were camping for nine weeks! I’ll miss that view, so I’m sure that is really true for you. I’ve never heard of savory s’mores but they sound delicious. I’m betting that you’ll find a few fun things to do at home!
I’m so glad you and Dale enjoyed “going to camp” each weekend, Carole. What a special get-away for you both. XO
