Weekending, November 7th-9th, 2025

I miss sharing photos of the bridge. Those weekends were full of photographic opportunities in a way that weekends at home just don’t compare. Nevertheless, it was a good one and I do have some things to tell you.

I tackled my clean up project on Friday morning and it took about 45 minutes to do 3 drawers, the floor of my closet, and the shoe bin under my bed. I went on to also clear out 2 more drawers in my dresser, reorganized the show box that holds the shoes I wear most, and cleared out a shelf in my closet, too. Dale packed up 2 boxes and several bags of items to go to the donation bin up town.

Other weekend things included Friday Night Snacks. Yes, we still do that. I tried to take a photo of my little plate of snacks and you can see that I also captured Fred at the same time. He’s rather fond of cheese.

Later that night we played cards with our friend Anne and, as you can see, George was in the thick of it. Whether it’s a card game or a magazine or the laptop, this guy comes and sprawls across it when you’re sitting at a table.

I didn’t realize until this morning that those 2 photos were the only ones I took all weekend but they do illustrate a theme.

How was your weekend?

  1. I feel like your daily living has a wonderful theme: food, friends, family, and felines. Obviously, you’re about far more than that, but those seem like good things to embrace for a rich life. Happy Monday!

  2. What a lovely weekend! Yay for you tackling your clean up project!! I still need to do that, but I did get a number of “chores” done. You know I love seeing ships of Fred and George. Hope your Monday is a good one!

  3. Congrats on a clean-out job well done! Cheese is Ruthie’s favorite treat — often I just have to ask her if she wants some and she knows to go in her crate — so she approves of Fred’s selection from your plate of snacks.

  4. Robby has summed it up nicely! Congratulations on the clean out. It’s always surprising to me how little time it takes after I’ve procrastinated forever and a day.

  5. Well. My weekend was filled with organzation chores, too. My focus was on our mudroom closet and another little hallway closet (the “dog closet” we call it . . . because that’s where the dog food and treats live . . . ). It feels really good to finally have tackled a job I’ve been putting off for months now. I’m so glad you took the plunge and went through your bins and stacks and drawers! XO
