Weekending, November 28th-29th, 2025

It was an extended weekend due to the Thanksgiving holiday and what a welcome extension that was.

We had, in the words of Arlo Guthrie, a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn’t be beat. And yes, Alice’s Restaurant is an annual tradition around here. The kids all came and we had a wonderful day of visiting, laughing, and feasting. The only downside was that Jess came down with some sort of 24 hour bug right after she got to our house and she spent the day asleep on the couch in our den.

The best part of Thanksgiving is the leftovers, right? And a turkey sandwich with stuffing and cranberry sauce on a leftover dinner roll is simply the best.

We decorated for Christmas, which is both a chore and a joy. What a conundrum that is!

And I took a selfie in my studio. I’m trying to do this regularly as I’m not often in the photos I take.

I hope your weekend was a good one, whatever you did.

  2. Yes, leftovers! A payback for all that cooking is always welcome. Glad you had a good holiday, Carole. I am still loving that new hairstyle on you.

  3. It sounds like a great weekend, Carole! Leftovers are my favorite part of Thanksgiving, truth be told . . .

  4. Those sandwiches look delicious and make me wish that I still had leftovers left. I do have lots of turkey soup that I made on Friday but I may freeze the rest of that. You and your house both look lovely!

  5. A turkey/cranberry sauce/dinner roll sandwich was my dinner on Friday night — it’s the best! Glad it was such an enjoyable long weekend for you, and I hope Jess is fully recovered now.
