First of all, here's the headshot. I don't love it, but I don't hate it…
Three On Thursday
Three things keeping me busy right now . . .
- Meetings. This week I had Select Board on Monday night, School Building Committee on Tuesday night, and Finance Committee (for work) on Wednesday night. I’m not a fan when they all stack up like that.
- Socializing. We’ve got our monthly Fireside Friday (our indoor Pergola Thursday event, basically) this week on Friday night and Dale’s Christmas party for his work on Saturday night.
- Holiday prep. The decorating is done but now it’s time to think about food. On Sunday, I am heading to Doreen’s for our annual cookie baking day. We’ve got our typical line up planned: peanut butter balls, ginger cookies, raspberry thumbprints, and spritz.
Other than the meetings, all of these things are fun. But still draining for an introvert who recharges best when she’s alone, reading a book in her pajamas on the couch.

Tis the season.

Ditto. The best way I recharge my batteries in December is reading a book in my chair in my gown and robe. Sometimes that includes a cup of tea, sometimes wine. But it always includes my dog. He is my organic heating pad. Hoping you get more recharging time to enjoy the season.
That sounds like a lot (really, too much)! I actually skipped family cookie day this year because I don’t need cookies and it’s not fun anymore (for stupid political reasons). I did feel guilty but it was still the best decision for me.
I don’t envy you all those meetings at all! (But I am ever so glad someone like you is so involved!) But yay for jammies on the sofa reading time!
Ooh, that’s a lot of meetings!
Fireside Friday sounds… cozy.
Cookie Baking Day!! I know you’ll have fun!! I think my sis might be here before the holidays, so we might have one of those, too! It’s been a while. I’ve been dreaming about shortbread & ginger cookies.
It is rather annoying that so many people/organizations try to cram everything into December, isn’t it? Let’s hope that once all the meetings and errands are done we all have a good chance to lounge in our pajamas and read some good books!
You are having a VERY busy December, Carole! (And like others have mentioned, I’m grateful for dedicated community volunteers LIKE YOU for hunkering down and doing the important work to keep things humming.) I hope you find plenty of downtime after the holidays!
Have a fun (and tasty) cookie baking day! All those meetings can be a slog, I know. I need to at least start thinking (planning) for cookie baking. I’m definitely cutting back on what I usually do (we always end up throwing out cookies in January or February!), but Colin asked me to bring cookies over on Christmas Eve…so I have to!
