Weekending, December 12th-14th, 2025

It was a very social weekend and I’m only popping in today to show you 2 photos of Dale and I . . .

This one is from Friday night at our Fireside Friday gathering. Everyone brings something to share at these events and the theme this month was to bring a food that is traditional for your family to eat for the holidays. I made Swedish meatballs, of course. We also had lasagna and snow pudding and a traditional English trifle, among other things. It was a regular feast!

And this one (a selfie) from Dale’s work Christmas party Saturday night. We had a grand time with his fellow bus drivers, laughing and dancing, and playing around with the photo booth.

As you’re reading this, I am elbow deep in cookie baking with Doreen. It’s one of my favorite days of the holiday season.

  1. I love the idea of everyone bringing a traditional holiday dish — I’m sure it was a delicious meal! (I’ve also never heard of snow pudding; I’m going to have to google that.) I hope your cookie baking goes well!

  2. You guys look like you are enjoying the merriment. Great photos! I hope you have a wonderful day with Doreen, there is nothing like a tradition with an old friend at the holidays.

  3. Such fun photos, Carole! And I hope you’re recovering today . . . after all your cookie-baking! XO

  4. What nice photos of you and Dale. Baking cookies is one of my favorite holiday activities and baking with someone dear is the best.
