Three On Thursday

It’s a random one this week, friends.

  1. We’ve been watching Christmas movies all month and have 3 left to watch at this point: Love Actually, A Christmas Carol (I prefer the one with George C. Scott), and Christmas Vacation. Due to two more social commitments, one more night of meetings, and Christmas Eve prep, we have a strict schedule we need to follow to fit these in.
  2. I have a cold and I blame Santa. And by Santa, I mean Dale, because he has played the big guy two weekends in a row and he caught a cold from one of those little charmers who perched on his knee and he passed that along to me. It’s not too awful, mostly confined to a cough, and I’m hoping it gets better and not worse.
  3. Today is my last work day of 2025. While I love my job and the people I work with, this still makes me extraordinarily happy.

Have a great day!

  1. Yay for the last work day of 2025 – ENJOY your break! Sorry about the cold. Iris had one the other week and I was sure I would get it, but we all seem fine now.

  2. I only watch one Christmas movie, Love Actually. I read an article yesterday about how it’s the worst Christmas movie ever but I just can’t agree. Sorry you have a cold but drink lots of tea with honey and feel better.

  3. Take care of yourself, Carole. Colds . . . are just plain miserable. And you sure don’t want to be sick during your break-from-work! We haven’t watched one Christmas movie this year. Frankly, we’re both kinda . . . weary . . . of most Christmas movies at this point. It’s almost like we’ve seen them enough times that they feel like a forced march instead of a lovely nostalgia thing . . . But, eventually, we’ll probably watch Love Actually. We do usually listen to the audiobook version of Tim Curry reading A Christmas Carol, though. That never gets tiresome! Enjoy your last day of work for 2025!!! XO

  4. I hope your cold is only the very first part of your winter break! Take care, and enjoy. We haven’t been watching Christmas movies this year, but I suspect when we’re with our daughter next week, that will change. My favorite Christmas Carol movie is the Muppet one — true to the text 😉

  5. I hope you feel better! it’s really been going around. I’ve been sick since last Monday, got more meds today after a visit Tuesday and no improvement on first med. Just heard the little 5 year old I’m cooking with Saturday has Flu A and has been sick since about the same time as me. Her mother took her to the Dr today. The older sister is in the Nutcracker Saturday and the whole family is on meds as we have all been looking forward to that.

  6. Glad you’re off!! I’ve had a cold since Dec 4th and so has my partner, but worse. It’s now progressed to a hack and wheezing cough. My mistake – go to your Primary within 3-5 days as it’s too late to find out what it really was. Now it’s something bronchial says Urgicare. The NP said that I’m at least not contagious though it certainly sounds so. Hope yours is resolved quickly. Happy Holidays to you and Dale.
