Moment of truth: I never left my house all weekend. Yep from the time I…
Weekending, January 9th-11th, 2026

This picture pretty much sums up my weekend. Feet up, kindle close by, relaxing by the fire. It’s not all I did but it’s close.
We kicked off the weekend with our Fireside Friday group and that was as wonderful as ever. There were 12 of us and it was the usual combination of great food, good conversation, and the comfort we have found in this community we have built.
And after that, the rest of the weekend was reading (Vigil by George Saunders), knitting (Dale’s sweater, which I am plugging along with), and watching television (Emily in Paris). I made spaghetti and meatballs on Saturday night, and chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans on Sunday night. I spent some time in my studio, created some TikToks, did plenty of journaling to help process my feelings, and just had an all around cozy weekend at home.
I hope you had an equally enjoyable weekend doing whatever it is that makes you happy.

Sounds like a very balanced cozy weekend, Carole, with very cozy food. Hope you enjoyed it as much as it sounds you did!
What a lovely weekend. Ours was equally good. We were out to dinner with C&M and Iris on Saturday (a rainy night), I had some yoga classes, I knit and read and stitched and I made a good curried lentil dish for dinner last night.
It was a good weekend to stay in and focus on indoor activities! I did some reading as well and, of course, a bit of knitting! I hope your great weekend vibes carry you through the week! XO
That sounds like a perfect weekend for January, Carole. XO
What a cozy weekend! I went wedding dress shopping for way too long; it was the opposite of cozy.
That sounds perfect. I spent most of the weekend at home, too, though we popped out for a movie matinee yesterday.
That sounds like a pretty perfect weekend to me! I hope it all helped you to deal with all the, well, everything that’s going on in the world.
