This sweet little bouquet cost $7.99 from the grocery store and this isn't even all…
Weekending, March 6th-8th, 2026
It was a pleasant weekend, spent mostly at home.

Friday afternoon in my studio. If I’m upstairs, so are Fred and George, generally snuggle together in the chair to the left of my desk.

We did have to go out Friday evening to attend the retirement party for the Police Chief in the town where I work. It was a wonderful gathering of colleagues, family, and friends for a guy that I am truly going to miss. It was great to witness the outpouring of support for him, particularly at a time when we hear so many horror stories about law enforcement.

We spent the rest of the weekend puttering around at home, running a few errands, preparing for the week ahead. I made popovers with sourdough discard for breakfast. I also made a great looking loaf of sourdough, I’ve been experimenting lately with the ratios when I feed Mama Cass and I think I’ve made a change that is resulting in a more cohesive dough.
Now that Daylight Savings Time is here the lights in the windows and the winter trees are put away until November.

And I took a selfie for you. More and more these days I echo Nora Ephron’s sentiment that I feel bad about my neck. ha!
Here’s to a great week.

Looks like a lovely weekend, Carole, but your weekends usually look that way. Those popovers – yum! Would love to hear what you changed about your ratios in the starter. Your neck looks fine! You should see mine! I hope the coming week is pleasant and spring-like.
It does look like you had a lovely weekend! (and I am echoing Becky R’s thoughts… your neck is lovely!) I’d be interested to hear what ratios are working for you and Mama Cass right now! XO
Oh . . . necks. They surely do show our age. But. . . I’m okay with that. 😉 I mean . . . we are in our 60s after all! XO
Mmm … popovers! They are a delicious carrier for butter; maybe I should make some myself someday. There are many parts of my body that I don’t feel good about and my neck certainly is near the top of the list. But yours looks just fine!
