Eye Candy Friday

Does a loaf of sourdough count as Eye Candy? Asking for a friend.

This is the loaf I baked yesterday and I’m really pleased with the scoring and the ear I got on this one. For those of you who inquired, I am feeding my starter with a 1:3:2 ratio and it’s working well. It is slower to grow but is stronger and the end result is a sturdier dough. I’ve kept Mama Cass alive since February of 2020 and I’m rather proud of that fact.

I’ll be watching the Oscars this weekend, what will you be doing?

  2. Eye candy? I don’t know, but that beautiful loaf deserves to be admired. Enjoy your weekend!

  3. That is one beautiful loaf of bread and I bet it tastes delicious, too! (I may be concocting a sourdough starter this weekend!)

  4. How pretty! Colin bakes sourdough bread about once a week. Not me…but I want to get back to baking bread…soon…

  5. A beautiful loaf, Carole! And I know from experience that is doesn’t come easy to get that result.

  6. It counts in my book! BEAUTIFUL!

I have my littles (8 and 4) on Monday and Tuesday for spring break. Bread will be made!!

  7. I fed my starter today and hope to start some bread tonight! That loaf is lovely Carole!

  8. It absolutely counts — that’s one gorgeous loaf, and I hope it tasted as good as it looks!

I’ll likely be watching some of the Oscars, even though I don’t think I’ve seen a single nominated movie! Mostly I just like seeing the clothes at this point.

  9. Absolutely that loaf of bread counts as eye candy. It is beautiful. And my hat is off to those who can work with sourdough.
